  1. Depends on what happens with the fiesta and the timing of its next update. I don't think it will make it to the Focus until MY2017
  2. Let me correct you on one thing. They shifted Transit Connect production from Turkey to Ibiza, Spain. And they ARE union
  3. You really think so? I feel like there's more headroom for the rearmost seats in TC vs Grand C-Max, plus more cargo room than C-max, even if the seats are a nightmare to fold down. I could be wrong, but I don't think the 2nd row folds down in the C-max.
  4. A far less daunting (and cheaper) of a task than going from Kentucky to Ohio
  5. At that rate, you would be better off moving the entire assembly process. I can't think of a single way of feasibly shipping thousands of fully assembled cabs from Kentucky to Ohio without A. Costing a fortune and B. Being a logistic nightmare
  6. I believe he was talking of shipping fully assembled cabs
  7. I have little faith my generation is going to help things much.
  8. Cost to ship would probably be a good place to start
  9. All great points, one question though. how much heavier is the DCT competed to a conventional automatic? That's one thing I haven't heard too much about.
  10. There's one pretty good reason CAFE Can't keep surviving on bought tesla credits forever
  11. Once again, you and I are in violent agreement!
  12. It won't be a major issue, it's one fire. Teslas were self destructing left and right for a while
  13. No doubt there were bad decisions made, but I refuse to believe that the added pressure of CAFE didn't contribute to that bad decision at all
  14. I wouldn't say its necessarily the fault of the DCT used in the Focus/Fiesta, but rather a matter of it coming to market a year or two too soon. CAFE plays a major role in "sqeezing every MPG" out of a particular car. It's an issue my Dad has been howling about for years. I'm all for progress, but forcing it too fast leads to these kinds of problems because there's not enough time to do thurough testing. Again, it's not always a Ford exclusive issue, everyone has to deal with it, except for apparently certain European automakers.
  15. Good to know, I've never seen either version on the road or on a dealer lot
  16. Sometimes you gotta make sure! The problem with text is its almost impossible to tell inflection at times.
  17. Are you suggesting sabotage? That would be fucked up if that turned out to be true.
  18. Unless both Tier 2 remain AND there remains a cap on the percentage of tier 2 workers in future contracts.
  19. Doubt it, there's approximately 603810205730248689 different things that could have caused that fire.
  20. That one surprises me less. FRAP was having panel alignment issues, as well as panel thickness issues, in the very early TT stage all the way up to Job 1. AFAIK, many PP builds were scrapped because of it.
  21. That doesn't really say much, other than the tour opened in 2004 and the plant itself dates back to 1915
  22. I would like to hear Ironhorse and ice-capades' thoughts on the subject as well.
  23. Was it? I thought they gutted the old building and installed all new equipment. Obviously not on the grand scale they just did, but over a period of several months.
