  1. More pics of a different truck https://www.motor1.com/photo/5664803/ford-maverick-spy-photos-front/
  2. I’ve seen cactus several times now and every time all I can see is mint green. It looks like it would be at home on a ‘57 t-bird. I hope cactus is limited to a few years and then they give us leadfoot.
  3. For me is all about looks. And I don’t think you can really compare an suv to a truck here. If you look at both the rav4 and escape, a large portion of the plastic is covered with silver which makes it look a lot nicer IMO. Plus the wheels on the suv are closer to the back so the plastic doesn’t wrap around as much. The camo isn’t doing it any favors either since it makes the trim really stand out. I’d guess after the camo is removed, it will look better. regardless, it looks 1000x better than this
  4. Not a fan of that either. In the pic above you can see a fair amount of plastic trim on top of the bed that goes up the rear of the cab. I guess they are trying to camouflage that rake in the bed. When you combine that with the rear bumper and the trim in front of the rear wheel, there’s a whole lot of plastic on that bed. I guess you gotta save money somewhere though if you are aiming for a sub 20k price.
  5. I agree. A few more inches in the back would be nice.
  6. if you squint your eyes, the front kinda looks like an old Colorado. I’m a bit worried that the bed is going to look a bit too much like the first gen ridgeline. Besides that it looks pretty good. Do you think that is the finalized rear bumper? Looks a bit like an after thought. Where will the license plate go? Hopefully if that is the final version, it gets body colored instead of black plastic.
  7. This right here. If I was ordering a bronco now, the only colors I would look at would be Oxford white, carbonized gray, iconic silver, shadow black, or velocity blue. Those are the colors that work best with any of the interior color options and trim colors. I for example really like the gray and blue cloth interior on the outer banks, but that would look pretty stupid with red exterior. It would however look great with carbonized gray. my hope is that ford cleans up the interiors for MY 22 or 23 and offers simple interiors in gray, black or tan on all trims. The higher trims can still get the blue interiors if they want. Keep the crazy camo and bright colors for special editions.
  8. The cx5 was redesigned in 2017. It’s not that old. I couldn’t find much about the next redesign, but what I did find said 2022. Mazda is also planning to have electric/hybrid versions of all of its vehicles by 2030, and don’t forget about the MX30 which should come out soon.
  9. I find it interesting that they are offering both sync 3 and sync 4 on the same model.
  10. I’ve actually got used to the grille shape and kinda like it now. In my opinion, the ST grille looks 100x better than the timberlines. I think the smaller grille and fog lights just give the timberline a much less aggressive face. Seems like it belongs on the base explorer.
  11. You are a bit more optimistic about these numbers than I am. The bronco sport is in limited supply. Many dealers are putting ADM’s on the ones they do have, and it still managed to sell almost 50% of the units the escape did (which has $6500 in incentives in some markets). On top of that, the escape just had its worst February since 2009. One year in to a new model, you’d think it would be hitting its stride. Obviously covid has hurt sales and we should see an increase with the hybrid and plug-in, but are the other competitors in this segment seeing the same drop in sales? I’d guess the main players aren’t. The next several months are going to be interesting. I hope we will see some sales increases for the escape since we would be comparing to last year when the pandemic was ramping up and people were losing their jobs.
  12. It’s a bit strange but I don’t really mind it, especially if it being there allows more room for other things.
  13. https://fordauthority.com/2021/02/2023-ford-ranger-interior-spied-for-the-very-first-time/ Not much to really see but it looks like it might have a large vertical screen?
  14. The grille is the same as the xlt grille but just a different color. The wheels are the same as the limited’s wheels. If I saw this driving down the road, I’d guess it was a limited. I would have liked to see a bit more differentiation from the other models, but I guess you are paying for the interior and the bigger engine. The ST is a better value and looks different from the other trims.
  15. Good question, and that’s good on their part if so. I frequent auto websites daily and I don’t recall seeing as many recall articles for other manufacturers as I do for ford. Of course being a ford fan, the ford articles might stand out to me more so than other companies.
  16. While the recent recalls all seem fairly minor, it doesn’t seem to paint a good picture for QC at ford. The bronco sport has already had 3 small recalls and now the f150. I really hope they can get this under control.
  17. If I had to guess, I’d say the price for the ioniq 5 will land between the bolt and the Mach e so it makes sense that it might be a bit slower. there’s supposed to be 4 or 5 different interior colors so that might make it a bit more interesting. I like the dual 12” screen set up and it looks like all passengers will have ample legroom. Front seat recliners seem a bit strange but I guess they are there to let you relax while you are charging.
  18. I actually think it looks pretty cool. Was the range or price released?
  19. Maverick timberline? https://www.motor1.com/news/488288/ford-maverick-timberline-rumor/
  20. Chinese interior would be nice. A new front end, Chinese interior with better materials and I would definitely consider a new escape.
  21. Hopefully ford will design something better than what VW has been able to do. All of VW’s ID vehicles they have shown so far have looked terrible in my opinion.
  22. The problem with the cross tour was that they started with a car shape and tried to turn it into an suv. The successful designs in this category do it the other way around. Start with an suv design and turn it into a coupe.
  23. Besides the wrangler, I think the compass is the best looking jeep in their lineup. With incentives it seems like you can get one for right around 20k. The low price and style probably attract a lot of buyers.
