  1. I had been researching how BEV trucks would perform. Towing for instance. The Tesla Model X can tow but needs recharging much more frequently. It doesn’t have a transmission but the motor’s are geared differently each with it’s own speed band. I think I understand that correctly. Anyway this helps with low and high speed performance. It seems a transmission would be needed for towing. I searched BEV transmission and found that article.
  2. https://www.truckinginfo.com/330571/allison-unveils-e-axle-propulsion-for-heavy-duty-trucks Allison E-Axle.
  3. https://insideevs.com/news/353354/rumor-mill-next-gen-tesla-model-s-x/ Maybe the same I don’t know as this; https://electrek.co/2019/09/11/tesla-model-s-plaid-powertrain-chassis-prototype/
  4. Tesla has a lot of irons in the fire. Building vehicles is one of them.
  5. Predictions have really changed in three years. This a chart from back then. I haven’t found anything newer.
  6. So a decade of ICE, Hybrid and BEV side by side. Hopefully everything associated with batteries will improve in that time period.
  7. How many years from now will the actual Mustang be built as a BEV? Do you build a parallel performance BEV ahead of time to be sold beside the Mustang ICE? How do you make that transition?
  8. Sounds like Generation 1 is the Mach and Generation 2 is the new larger BEV. Even though nothing has been sold.
  9. I seem to remember 88 hp in the 4 cylinder. And 22 mpg all the time. I liked driving my uncle’s v8 though.
  10. I had one of those without the fancy stripes. White too. Grandfather was selling Fords at the time. It was a dog with 4 cylinder/manual. My uncle had the V-8 version. Later I had a really ugly blue and tan 4 cylinder/manual. Now that was sporty. ?
  11. The newest Tundra is plain ugly to me. That doesn’t help sales.
  12. If I was towing a trailer that engine would be my choice in the F250.
  13. We rented one. A red hatch right after they came out. Sweet looking car. But the first thing I thought: “What the heck is wrong with this thing?” I was in the small car purchase mode too. So it didn’t make the list.
  14. Not my local dealer,. Have to drive to another state. They call it MB Vans Locations I think. We have a new dealer locally but it’s not on the list.
  15. Probably wouldn’t sell and where would they build it anyway. I like the size. As mentioned the Metris is limited to commercial dealers too. Can’t buy one at the local MB store.
  16. I’ve owned 3 Aerostars, passenger versions, back in the day. I hauled a lot of stuff in those including a 289 from my 1966 Mustang.
  17. Old thread. I’ve been seeing a number of these on the road. I like this mid size and slab sided utility. I loaded a passenger version up on the build site at $40K. I hope Ford will bring the Transit Custom.
  18. A geriatric accessible truck would be nice. One that is a little closer to the street. At least maybe an option, a version, anyway. Would help with loading the bed too. Not all of us need the elevation.
  19. That Tacoma has a sunroof. They rest don’t appear to. I have to admit the floor pan is high on my Tacoma. At 5’9” I have a few inches between my head and the headliner with no sunroof. A lower step in would be nice but the truck fits me nicely. After a year and a half the shifting weirdness has resolved mostly and down shifts when coasting to a stop. It was irritating for a while. The next generations of the Ranger and the Tacoma should be interesting.
