  1. My truck (2022 F250 with FX4) came with 275/70R18E raised white letter Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain Adventure with Kevlar. They supposedly have a 60,000 mile treadwear rating, but I will be lucky to get 30-35,000 out of them. The tread pattern is not impressive and winter traction is absolutely horrible, even when I lower pressure for the winter and have sandbags in the bed. I have never been impressed with factory tires and these are no different. The only exception were the Firestone Wilderness AT’s that came on my Explorer. Those were great tires despite some people having issues that led to the big recall.
  2. I have this piece and fortunately it is in place and looks good as-is. I am not sure of it’s function, but if it were me, I would be having the dealer fix it to my satisfaction.
  3. My build was 3/22/22 and the price was $1,695. My build from 2016 was $1,195 so all things considered, $1,895 doesn’t sound too bad.
  4. The rapid blink indicates a bulb out on that side. It can also happen if you replace an incandescent bulb with an LED, or in the case of a mirror light an OEM fixture replaced with an aftermarket one. In any case, the module is not recognizing the new bulb/fixture and might need a reset.
  5. I asked for a prior truck about 10 years ago (4x4) which came with 3.55 and I wanted to go to 4.10’s. Back then it was in excess of $3k because they have to do both front and rear axles, plus reprogramming transmission, speedometer, and various other tunes. I passed on this and bought a different truck. I can only imagine what ir costs now.
  6. Here is the secret they don’t want you to know: even without adding remote start to the fob, you still have it automatically through the free FordPass app! I can set an auto start schedule with the app and the truck is warm and toasty when I walk out the front door. When I ordered my Escape, I did the research and saved $495 by not adding the remote start with the fob and used the app instead. When I would fly for work, as soon as the plane landed, I would use the app to start my car, let it time out after 10 minutes, then used the app again on my way to the parking lot and my car was warm and clear of snow and ice. I would suggest waiting until you get your truck and try it out before you spend money adding the remote start with fob.
  7. The hotspot removal isn’t a big loss for most. Its biggest shortcoming is lack of portability. It is (was) built into the truck so you could only use it in the truck. We use either a portable hotspot or our phones for a hotspot if the need arises. Regardless, the removal of this “feature” doesn’t impact the FordPass features including remote start from your smartphone. I have the switchblade key, with remote start on the key and there is a red “alarm” button. Pressing it makes the horn honk and the lights flash. This is a pic of my key and one of my FordPass app.
  8. I agree that the solid blanks look like crap. I see tons of aftermarket ones that look a lot better than the OEM ones. But what does the EPA have to do with it?
  9. Adding an aftermarket intake kit is not something that would void your warranty as long as it meets or exceeds the same standards as OEM
  10. It will only create a warranty issue if the modification can be proven to have directly caused the failure being reported under a warranty claim. This is why we have had the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act since 1975.
  11. The system resets on the next key cycle. I just use “ask on exit” and select perimeter.
  12. Mine is a 2022 XLT with Sync 3. When I enter my VIN for my nav update it says my truck is pre-2010 and not eligible for an update. Today I was connected to Wifi and did a search for updates and it said I was up to date with Sync version 3.4.21194 but when I went to the Ford website it said I had an update available, so I downloaded, updated and reported the successful install of version 3.4.22200. Ford website still says my software is out of date and the Nav system still says my truck was built before 2010 so it isn't able to update the maps. I had less issues with my Sync2 system
  13. I don’t think the standard Nav does auto-updates but Sync does. You can access the settings menu in the truck and press “Check for updates” and it will tell you if you are current or need an update. Mine says Sync is current and Nav version is NA 2 20. I received a message in FordPass app last week that said a new map version “may” be available, but when I tried to request the update it said I had the latest version.
  14. That’s how I found my truck…..repeated dealer searches all over the country until I found a dealer ordered unit with the features I wanted that just went into production. That was earlier this year and was only after looking for about 2 months. From what I see and have seen, there are a lot more 6.7’s out there and available than gas models. I know a lot of dyed in the wool diesel guys who have gone to the 7.3 gas and love it. When I picked mine up, the dealer had 7 diesels on the lot they couldn’t move while every gasser was sold before it ever hit the lot. As for PCO’s, I have received 3 this year, the last one 9 days ago. No idea how or why, but they keep sending them.
  15. We moved from an F150 to our 2022 F250. The F150 was/is a squishy ride and in retrospect felt sloppy compared to our F250. We have the 7.3 with 3:55 gears and it is awesome towing our 7,500 travel trailer. We are just over 6 months since new and about half of our 12,000 miles on the clock have been towing. Our last truck had the 3.5L twin turbo so we ran 93 octane when towing and averaged 9 mpg. We run 87 octane in the 7.3 and still get 9 mpg towing the exact same trailer, so the 7.3 is actually less expensive on gas when towing. I would not hesitate to order this exact same truck again.
  16. Ours did it (when camping)….pretty embarrassing. It can be triggered by sound or movement in the cab. We set the alarm to “ask on exit” and set it to perimeter if we are out and about. The alarm on “all sensors” has never triggered sitting in our driveway
  17. I just got the same email. I used the $3,000 PCO a few months ago for my current truck. Now it’s dropped to $2,000. Not sure if I want/need another vehicle at the moment, but I have a few months to think about it I guess.
  18. The pro power gadget is just an inverter. The reveal said “5 times more power than the competition” which can also be Ford since we already have a built-in 400w inverter (5x400=2,000). You can add your own 2,000 watt inverter for under $200. Anything more really needs a hybrid powertrain like the F150 with the 7,200 w. It is a feeble attempt at a useful feature, but fails miserably to fulfill the whole idea of the new Super Duty being built for work.
  19. I added a B&W turnover ball and B&W Companion hitch to the truck (I didn’t have the 5th wheel prep). My Grand Design Reflection uses the Turning Point pin box which shifts the pivot point back and eliminates the need for a sliding hitch. The hitch is easy to remove and leaves the bed clean and flat. My brother just bought a new 5th wheel and went with the turnover ball paired with the Andersen Ultimate hitch. I would stay away from any goose box adapters because LCI (they make most travel trailer frames) has not been accepting any frame or trailer sidewall warranty claims starting last year since the goose box adapter adds stress to the trailer frame in the wrong places.
  20. It’s been a few months, but I recall that load child meant it was 1 vehicle assigned to a multi vehicle load. It is a step in the right direction. At the top of the page mine said pending pickup and at the bottom it said order type individual. I will look on my computer when I am back at work Monday to see if I have any screenshots
  21. No, the load number is just a tracking type number. If you are registered on the site, you will get an email every time any load leaves the rail yard to your dealer. Once I received that email, I was able to follow the truck on the site on a map in near realtime.
  22. I am sure it can be done, but for what purpose? The inverter is only 400 watts and is only active with the truck in accessory mode or running. Personally I would have more use for a 12v power port in the bed. If wired direct to the battery and/or through the upfitter switches, and with appropriate sized wire, you could use a bigger inverter plugged into the power port to run larger items, control whether it is powered all the time and have the option of using the port for a portable air pump if needed.
  23. I think shipping transit times are largely location-dependent, meaning that some will get theirs faster than others depending on their final delivery location. But also, as others have said, rail car availability, truck transport availability and driver availability all factor into it and none of it is within Ford’s control. Mine was built, shipped and delivered all in less than 2 weeks. I helped a friend track his a month after mine and following the same route to the same dealer took 9 weeks for delivery, the bulk of which it was sitting at the destination rail yard waiting for transport to the dealer.
