theoldwizard
reportedly it was in the works and is dead now. Lack luster sales of Camry Solora and Accord Coupe killed it.

96 Pony
Love the renditions Furious of the coupe. Hot, hot, hot! :shades: Fusion would also be gorgeous as a 'vert. I don't see that it would hurt Mustang sales. Thunderbird never did back when it was a personal luxury car and could be had with the SC option. Edstock
Accord has a coupe for 2008. As do Nissan, Infiniti, Volvo, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, GM. So there's room for at least one from Ford.

I owned a 89' T-bird SC and I must say it was one of the fastest cars that I have ever owned even though it only had a 3.8 V-6, I would love to own a Fusion SC! NLPRacing
I don't see that it would hurt Mustang sales... And if it did, then build a better Mustang! It's better lose a Ford sale to a Ford then to lose it anyone else, especially Toyota or Honda...

It's better lose a Ford sale to a Ford then to lose it anyone else, especially Toyota or Honda... Spot on. I see Solaras all over the place out here as well as 3 Series BMW's. There is a market for people like me - good income, single and don't haul a lot of people around. Monte Carlo and the Sebring coupe didn't sell because they were fugly, underpowered and had crappy interiors compared to the imports. Fusion doesn't suffer from that - it is a good looking car but could easily be made into a hot coupe. I owned a 89' T-bird SC and I must say it was one of the fastest cars that I have ever owned even though it only had a 3.8 V-6, I would love to own a Fusion SC! Ohhhh - you had one of the hot ones! :shades: Edited October 28, 2007 by 96 Pony

They were worse than fugly. They were some of the most half-assed attempts at cars in a long time.

I agree they could elevate the quality and performance to the level and class of the Mustang to match and or, exceed that of the Corette targeting the same market. They can also make future models 2 seat coupes! Either way it would be a mistake not to make a performance Fusion and even a 4 seat coupe!
