LSX
I was perusing a local Ford dealer and I came across a 2008 Mercury Sable. Originally I though it was a import from the United States until I photographed the IC. This is shrunk for the internet, but it can be clearly made out that the Km/h is on the larger side of the dial rather then MPH. How did this happen? I got the VIN if anyone that can check it out with Ford or whoever

Roadrunner
I bet that a special order is allowed, but what's it doing sitting on a dealer lot for sale? (Unless the person who ordered it rejected it?)
twintornados
I would bet that as the panther chassis winds down, Grand Marquis may be next to be axed, thus leaving a void in the lineup for a "near luxury" sedan at the Ford store.....just a guess Edited May 5, 2008 by twintornados
Walt
Could it be just a generic for-export Sable? I mean, for Europe or Asia, but just ended up in Canada? A "for anywhere except USA" Sable would have a kph speedometer, no? Did it have yellow rear directionals?

I'm pretty sure Mercuries aren't sold in Europe or Asia....and if they are it'll be the GM only.

Mercuries are sold in the United Emirates and the Sable and Taurus kept the Montego and Five Hundred names there and maybe this could mean the return to canada :happy feet:

whistler
Its probably a US import that the dealer converted, for the convenience of whoever buys it... If they sell Sables in the UAE then they already have a KPH speedo, just a matter of ordering the part and installing it.
J-150
it's only a year old. Dubai probably doesn't get its' cars from Canada. The only reasonable conclusion (being a year old) is... FORD EXECUTIVE CAR
