What will UAW workers do after contract is shredded?

After GM and Chrysler go bankrupt, the UAW contract with those companies will be shredded. Union workers at those companies will be forced (screwed) by a bankruptcy judge into taking major wage and benefit concessions. Ford Motor Co. will follow suit because they won't be able to afford to give GM and Chrysler an

unfair competitive advantage. What will UAW members be able to do about it?.............................My answer would be this:NOTHING...........They might as

well go WHACK THEIR PUD because they (me too) won't be able to do a DAMN THING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh , by the way, I have a title in mind that Barack

and Michele Obama could use on a new book: HOW I GOT THE UAW TO ENDORSE ME AND THEN FUCKED THEM IN THE ASS. :banghead:

If I lose my job or I have to take a big pay cut, I won't blame the President. I wouldn't have blamed John McCain or President Bush either BECAUSE NO ONE MAN OR WOMAN IS TO BLAME FOR THIS SHITTY MESS WE'RE IN. But, you see, the UAW endorsed Barack Obama on the hope that he would save them from

what is coming (bankruptcy). I don't think anyone can at this point, unfortunately. The union may as well have endorsed Donald Duck. I'm saying that some

union members were excited after Obama was elected because they thought the good old day's (Clinton and the first term of Bush for the Auto industry) would

return. I'm sure that excitement is beginning to wear off now that reality has begun to seep in.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh NO!!! ..................things are never that bad, so please, by all means, don't end you life. I also am hoping for better days ahead. Yes, I did vote for McCain (uh oh, more poli :stirpot: tical comment). And yes, it's fine to call me what you want for voting Republican. But WAIT..........HERE IS ANOTHER COMMENT

I know of several co-workers who profess to be Christians and then voted for Obama. I would say that any Christian who votes for a man that is okay with partial birth abortion is not being true their faith. Just my opinion. Yes, I know, typing FUCKED IN THE ASS on this forum(twice now!) isn't very Christian of me either.

I will suffer for that later. Another small(HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!) item of interest to every American: I simply didn't trust Obama as much on national security as McCain.

But that is another thing that one man alone cannot control.

Nobody said Ford will go bankrupt he just said that after bankruptcy judge shreds GM & Chryslers contracts and they get new contracts then Ford will want the same thing to remain competitive.

Do you queston their religion? NO! Conservatives is the number one consumer of porno. But yet and still do you question their religion? NO! Catholics put a gay Bishop in the pulpit, but do you question their religion? NO! God is not going to judge you for who you voted for but how you are living your life. So that is who I suggest you be concern about. God forgives all if we just ask, and no one I mean no one is perfect and we all haved sinned.

John McCain is having trouble protection his own state of Arizona. He was called out by another republican for not doing enough to defend his state from the drug smuggling and cartel kidnapping.

Cut government and cut taxes and the auto industry along with all other industries would recover. Big government is the fat turkey that is gumming up the works.

I'm with you on that one, Trim! 100%!! And so called "gumming up" by the Gov't is being too fucking nice, in my outspoken opinion. :banmolest: :banmolest: :banmolest: :banmolest: :banmolest: :banmolest:

They won't necessarily file for bankruptcy, but there's no way in hell they're going to take GM/Chrysler/UAW concessions lying down either. Pattern bargaining has kept labor costs roughly the same between the three companies, and pattern bargaining can be a bitch, because it gives the companies a reason to insist on concessions. If GM and/or Chrysler end up in bankruptcy court, or otherwise negotiate a contract with the UAW that is more favorable to them than this current Ford/UAW contract, you can bet your bottom dollar that Ford is going to insist on reopening it. Why the hell do you think it was just reopened this time, after talks with GM stalled? It was the UAW leadership's attempt to get a deal done at Ford to set the pattern at GM & Chrysler under the current circumstances. Problem is that the terms of this current Ford/UAW contract may not be enough to satisfy the auto task force and the bondholders, so whether Gettlefinger likes it or not, they may end up swallowing bigger cuts at GM & Chrysler, and Ford is going to come knocking after that. And as much as this is going to piss people off here, God help Ford if the union refuses. All the good will that Ford seems to be creating by not taking any federal loans, goes right out the window if GM and/or Chrysler end up with a better deal than Ford and nothing changes for Ford. Based on what I'm seeing around the country, including comments made by people pissed that the auto task force is talking to salaried retiree reps, the majority of car customers in this country and Canada don't give a rats ass what any Big Three employee, hourly or salaried, think or have to say anymore. It's the customers out there writing their representatives and the White House insisting that these changes get forced down Detroit's collective throat. After the way employees & retirees of Eastern, United and US Airways that lost most of their pensions, and the retirees, stockholders and bondholders of Bethlehem, National, and LTV Steel, Kemper Insurance, and other large companies all got burned, a lot of people are pissing and moaning at the idea of any protection for Big Three employees. So you can bet even Ford loyalists will be hopping mad if the Ford/UAW contract doesn't get reopened again following what happens at GM & Chrysler.

I wouldn't want to be working at Solidarity House now under any circumstance.

Don't fret over things out of your control. The vast majority of workers don't have a union behind them and survive just fine.

Those that make it through to the otherside in detroit will do great.

R U an uneducated fool?

McCain would have put GM and Chrysler out of business and Ford would no longer be in business also they would have all been sold to Chinese and Indian companies.

Obama will give them the $$ to get out of bankruptcy and he already is going to guarantee there warranties.. Im sure McCain would have done that :finger::finger::finger:

The government doesn't want GM to fail. They want the business to stay alive. Unfortunately, the employees are expected to suffer all in the name of keeping the company alive.

We all know that GM is not going to bankruptcy court maybe Chrysler but not GM.

In the end the union workers will take the same concessions we gave and maybe maybe a little more and Obama's people will say that meets the requirement.

GM is an American icon it aint going to bankruptcy court it would make the USA look bad. And Ford isnt going either.. All u Obama haters get ready to eat your words........

If the divorce rate is higher among conservatives it's because they actually get married!!!!!!!!!! Liberals don't even bother to tie the knot, they just shack up.

People that don't get married can't get divorced. These split-ups don't figure into divorce statistics, therefore divorce rates in blue states might show up lower

than red states. Another point, how in the hell is practicing infanticide(partial birth abortion), which Obama says is OK, living your life right? You're kidding me

right???????????? I couldn't care less about the porno and queer Catholic bishops!!!!!!
