97svtgoin05gt
You can get similar power and speed at your current John Deere dealer can't you? I'm curious if Tata will offer the mower deck option.

I'm betting on a Barbie special edition. If there ever was a car more suited to it....
ANTAUS
Again, if they are selling these cars this cheaply, I wonder what, if any, profit are they actually making on these vehicles...

Pioneer
Again, if they are selling these cars this cheaply, I wonder what, if any, profit are they actually making on these vehicles... It won't be cheap when they have to redesign the whole thing to meet U.S. emission and crash standards.
jpd80
Hey, if people are happy driving little more than a motorized shopping trolley in amongst tractor trailers, F Trucks and SUVs that fill US highways, good luck to them. They're trying to do a Smart on the cheap, you can't do that without compromising your buyers' safety. Edited June 5, 2009 by jpd80
Deanh
It won't be cheap when they have to redesign the whole thing to meet U.S. emission and crash standards. bingo....and the additional weight will hurt ANY mileage or acceleration....will probably end up making the Smart feel like a Lambo. I'm going to check out the Fiesta but I'm pretty sure that it'll be too small for my tastes as well.

TomServo92
you Texas chappies...everything has to be bigger.... I just don't feel safe in anything smaller. The flipside is I don't like large vehicles either. You won't see an F-250 on my shopping list.

Fiesta is about Escort size, Americans are accommodating people but expecting them to drive even smaller cars is unrealistic. I think Tata is living in Bollywoodland. ANTAUS
Even the Smart is a stupid idea. It doesnt get great gas mileage, its small, unrefined, and can easily cost as much as a Focus.
taxman100
I read in some magazine that the entire vehicle is designed to last only 40,000 miles - from the quality of the steel in the wheel bearings, to one windshield wiper, etc., it is not designed for someone who will drive it for years. rmc523
Actually.....I just read a new press release about the US Nano. It mentioned that in order to maintain it's low price-point, they would make a few changes to the Nano for US consumption. The changes will also take care of emissions certification issues...... Here's a picture of a family in the updated model:
jpd80
Crash test a Nano? This is what we're talking about, the crumple zone is your legs and spine. Edited June 6, 2009 by jpd80
