CKNSLS
http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2011/10/18/dispatcher-helps-panicked-motorist-with-runaway-car/ This was in the local news yesterday. The point of the post is to document that people in a panic situation do not have the frame of mind to think in a "common sense" fashion. Any car that allegedly has a SUA problem - the answer is simple, JUST TURN IT OFF!
jpd80
The point is you want to keep the SUA debate going in the hope of proving Toyota's innocence. I vote we close this thread....
probowler
No, the point is that women can't drive and should be banned from being behind the wheel I agree with JPD

twintornados
No, the point is that women can't drive and should be banned from being behind the wheel I agree with JPD No, the point is, she panicked and called for help, and the dispatcher told her how to handle the situation....I would guarantee that next time, she will remember what to do... And I too agree with JPD

Any car that allegedly has a SUA problem - the answer is simple, JUST TURN IT OFF! Since when is 25mph a "runaway" car? She may not have had brakes. That's like calling O.J.'s Bronco flight a "high-speed" chase. WTF is up with Californians????

r2c2
Sudden Unintended Acceleration Aahhh. I think i would put it in neutral before i would turn it off. I wouldn't want to lose power steering and brakes and the like.
