Detroit losing more ground on CUV

Recommended Posts

I think part of the reason why Escape sales are down are do to the EcoSport being on the market- its taking away the low end sales.

Also with the Baby Bronco to slot in between them, I see Escape sales going down even more because of that. The "only" good thing is that it appears that the Baby Bronco and Escape will be C based products, so they can share a plant that can provide Escape overflow production.

I see the lineup like this:

Ecosport-Fiesta replacement

Baby Bronco-low end Focus replacement

Escape-Focus/low end Fusion Replacement

Edge-High end Fusion/low end full sized sedan replacement

Explorer-High End Full sized sedan replacement

Bronco-mid sized SUV

Expedition-full sized SUV

You also have the the Focus Active and Fusion Active, but IMO they are niche vehicles to a point.
