silvrsvt Posted October 18, 2006 Share Posted October 18, 2006 There is one huge thing to dislike about the Edge and that is the reflections on the windshield from the large dash area in front of the steering wheel. This is a problem with all such vehicles that have long, rakish windshields and upright seating, but in the Edge, these reflections were so pronounced as to become a safety issue. Some kind of non-reflective surface has to be installed on the dash. It would appear that Ford is aware of the problem. In the test vehicles for this media event, the company provided — without comment — free polarized sunglasses, which cut about 90% of the glare. That was sneaky. LOL Very nice review of the Edge... TTAC which is usually biased, but reationally so - LOVED The engine .. and the tranny ... unless Edmunds confirms the CandD assetrtions, I will take them as an optionion of one reviewer that has preferences elsewhere ... so far this CandD review is the only D35 review that does not like the D35 .. edmunds liked it in the MKZ and CX9, Michael Karesh liked it in MKZ (well like the smoothness), and now TTAC joins in ... it seems D35 might be right on par with the Toyota v6.. someone just did not like to admit that ... Look at their comments - they had nothing negative to say about the interior so they said: The materials and fit-and-finish are pretty nice, WTF!!! .... how about more info .. assembly, style, ergonomics?? ... color cmbination? , ANYTHING .. not a FREAKING ONE SENTENCE ABOUT THE WHOLE FREAKING DASH ... whether you like it or not .. GM uses ABB robots in all their assembly plants. And yes, they are as Japanese as Toyota. Where did the GM come from? I thought GM bought into the company at one time. Given Ford's ability to debut SUVs (many, MANY more successes than failures), what will still be a huge dealer network even with some dropping, and the vehicle's dynamics...your head is, indeed, buried underground.
