mackinaw
I get why Ford is suing this company, but damn, that Bronco looks pretty cool.

Eduardo
Seems to me a shortsighted move by Ford. The bad PR from appearing petty and a bully might be worse than whatever perceived harm they think this customer of theirs is doing them. Focus on the big picture, big blue. Are they not buying your Broncos? Didn't I recently read that you cut production of the Bronco due to lagging sales? Makes a lot of sense to sue an outfit buying and promoting that product irregardless if you like they way they are doing it.
Blue Oval Guide
According to trademark laws, Ford must protect their intellectual property rights or they will be dilluted.
Eduardo
We should usually take our lawyer's advice, but not always. It just reminds me of the Specialized bicycle company's overly aggressive trademark defense, and I know that many in the cycling community who had no opinion one way or the other about that company will never own a Specialized bike because of it. I'm in that group. I'd hate to see Ford make the same mistake. Just because it's within your legal rights does not make it a good business decision. https://velo.outsideonline.com/road/road-racing/specializeds-disastrous-trademark-case-is-unnecessary-to-defend-the-brand/

akirby
If Ford ignores this it opens them up to other companies doing it who might not be using a new Bronco underneath. There are also potential liabilities. And if Ford decides to do this themselves one day they’d be competing. All they have to do is license it with Ford. They just don’t want to pay royalties or licensing fees.
