TomServo92
For awhile there we were getting regular stories about Mulally doing this or Mulally changing that and suddenly it all stopped. Is it that he's no longer a top story or is it something else? I'm curious if anyone has any insight into it.

igor
He is shopping for a global marketing director ... He is also supposed to be evaluating strategic reorganization of the Sales department(s) They are probably brewing a lot of changes, but not ready to announce them as done yet. Remember - while it only took a single announcement to let us know that Ford has new Product development and brand structure, internally, that transition is probably still going on. Where the hell is Lincoln's exclusivty!? as I said at GMI - the NA 3.7l will be Lincoln exclusive .. the Twin Force is going into everything from Taurus to F150 to Mustang ... Igor The use of turbos also makes it pretty simple to dial in different horsepower ratings for essentially the same engine. I wouldn't be too surprised if the TwinForce in the Taurus has a little less boost to give the Lincoln D3 variant a slight HP advantage. Either way, this is GREAT (might I even suggest Bold) news. LSFan00
I am going to go way out on a limb and say that was in fact pure pot-stirring. Any reason at all to think otherwise?

I don't do that sort of thing. The Twin Force GTDI 3.5 will be in the CY 2009/MY 2010 Taurus restyle.

Igor F150??????????????? does that make ANY sense??????? a small turbo diesel maybe....a lightning Sportrac maybe, SVT Ranger maybe.....but a 5000lb truck NOT! It would be meant as a replacement to the 4.2 V6 currently in the F150. The new engine would develop more HP, and get better gas mileage. It is not a replacement for the V8's... I see a disaster in a vehicle of higher curbweights....low end torque is necessary in a truck at lower RPM's.....turbos need spooling up and thus higher RPM's...and that puts undue stress on transmissions... I'm sure that Ford has that problem solved...I'm assuming they have 2 different sized turbos to deal with that.

The std F-150 engine will be a 3.7 NA. The 3.5 Twin Force will make 350 ft lbs @ 2000 rpm.
