  1. The platform or chassis is designated KE for first generation models, the second generation units are referred to as KF. SkyActiv is what Manda calls their engine designs.

  2. Well in the natural progression of things, at what point does the "commonality" of development blur the distinction between brands and then the bean counter/financial "analysts" start the synergism drum beat and some brands disappear? I think your first sentence spells that out. At some point they become just that..a "brand". Been waiting for the shoe to drop at Mack. Sooner or later enough of the old Mack diehards (as in customers) will be gone and someone in Sweden will say...."and why do we have all this duplicated expense?" It will be a sad day for an old guy like me.

  7. PP2 dropping is on Page 1 on the 2021 Product/Oder Guide. Also, interesting the PP1 went up $1,000 over 2020, but, that was offset by Safe and Smart is no longer a $1K option, it is included in the 401A Package. Most other check off items are the same. The Base GT Prem. is up a little. I built a GT Prem, 401A, auto, PP1 with all options...including the nickel luster wheels I like....came to: $56,995. Mag ride, 6P Brembos, etc, 3.55 Torsen rear, same as auto trans Mach 1. This is a nice Mustang that has great features, some that are on the Mach 1, for those that aren't tracking the car....save a ton of $$. Besides MSRP being a lot less, the dealer will discount this car a bunch. I'm figuring I can save approx. $6K over the Mach 1 I built. Something to think about for those not needing a track car. And, it's not hard to up your 460 hp to 480 with simple bolt ons.

  10. I stopped getting rustproofing on new vehicles a long time ago. The last vehicle I had with significant rust problems was a 1989 Aerostar when it was about 8 years old. I live in Ontario where a lot of road salt gets used in the winter and parked that vehicle in my garage. Subsequently, my vehicles (including one we had for 13 years) that have been left outside haven't experienced significant rust problems. I likewise wouldn't go with any product that drills holes in the metal. Your MKC has extra sound insulation as well as audio components, wiring, etc. that might be damaged if anything was sprayed inside doors or body cavities. Some people I know get an oil spray under the vehicle every fall.

  11. That is indeed the interior. Whoever posted that is not lying. It’s a FACT that that is the interior. I work at OAC no verification needed.
