  1. F350 Lariat Ultimate Rapid Red with 6.7 Diesel, Onboard scales, Pro Power, Max Recline, Supplemental Heat, FX4, Gooseneck 5th wheel Prep, Locking 3:31, Chrome Pkg. Towing 14,980 lb Directional Drill trailer. BigTex 16TL 22 tilt trailer with Vermeer D20x22 S3 on it. Onboard Scales showed we had drill placed way too far back with dangerous 5% tongue weight instead of 10-15%. Onboard scales for the win!! Highly recommend this option for those that tow equipment. Especially if employees are towing and don’t guess equipment placement correctly. If you own a company where employees are towing trailer mounted equipment get OnBoard scales !!! Will save towing accidents from Bad loading !! Ordered 7/19. First scheduled 9/7. Invoiced 11/6, built and shipped 11/14. Sat at rail yard for 18 days. Picked up 12/14. Strike delayed by 3 weeks. Just ordered trailer mounted camera and tpms to add to longer trailers. Still trying to learn all the new features. Previous Super Duty was a 2008. A lot has changed !!!

  2. On the flip side, the surviving dealerships will be the "big conglomerate dealers" (the guys that own dozens of dealerships spanning multiple brands), and with less competition, the mark up games and shady crap will continue to get worse.

  3. Expect to see more of these kinds of stories, investigations are ongoing..... BTW, Ford will not be offering diesel powered F-650 and 750 trucks in California after the first of the year, they are no longer CARB compliant. It's an interesting situation, from what I gather the 7.3L Powerstroke does not meet 2025 CARB diesel standards, so as the 650 and 750 will be 2025MY next year (2024) they cannot be sold in California. It sounds like F-250's through F-600's will still be 'CARB legal' next year because those trucks are 2024MY. It will be interesting to see what Ford does in 2025, not being about to sell diesel 650's and 750's is not a big deal but if they can't get the Powerstroke to comply for the other trucks that's going to hurt.

  4. My 72-year-old brother-in-law went in for a common back surgery procedure exactly 3 months ago and has been paralyzed from the waist down since in what is going to be a malpractice suit. My sister worked as an OT for 30 plus years but specialized in pediatrics and this new situation is beyond her usual expertise. She's been working with PT's on wheelchair to vehicle transfer and close to being able to make it happen as their vehicle is an SUV and the height differential has been a real obstacle to overcome. As such, they've had to rely on medical transport services at a cost of $225 each time which is not covered by insurance. My BIL is getting sensations in his legs which is progress, but the prognosis and timeline is still uncertain, and my sister is refusing to consider another vehicle so far. She and other therapists are working with him, and she's convinced that he's going to walk again. If anyone can make it happen, she can!

  5. Yeah, no, they didn't. I see a LOT more PIUs than Dodge SUVs wearing law enforcement livery, and a lot more PIUs than Chargers, too.

  6. And to carry that a step further, our political system includes too many elected officials that are in lock-step with their corporate puppet masters that have profit driven agendas which may not be in the public's best interest but are force fed to the public anyway by means of political campaign contributions. In other words...money talks. The end result is that the politicians and corporations get rich while the tax payers are forced to fund questionable programs.

  7. I think the mandate is ridiculous on another count. Right now, we're in a chicken vs egg period. the infrastructure is going to take time to build out to where we have chargers everywhere, just like cell service in its infancy. Antennas initially were only in the densest population centers and along the most travelled Interstates; exit an outstate freeway and you usually lost coverage. I think many small businesses are reluctant to invest what are large sums of money for them to install chargers, when there is not enough demand to make a profit currently, but I believe more people would buy a BEV if they were confident that they didn't have to stay in their range radius in order to charge at home. I don't think you can't put mandates on supply and demand, it virtually guarantees imbalances.

  8. I’ve been saying this for a while. The 2030 mandate is ridiculous, especially when supporting infrastructure is still in its infancy and we’re on the verge of 2024. 6 years is not as much time as people think.

  9. No, hopefully by the end of next year all the tax breaks are gone. They’re just a transfer from the American taxpayers to the auto makers. There a bad idea at any time, it particularly so when we’re running annual deficits in the trillions.
