  1. IMO the SVO looks stupid without the flush headlights on it. Anyways, IMO the weakest Mustangs looks wise was the 74-79 Pinto based Models. Otherwise the styling of the Mustang has been perfect since its inception. I grew up with the FOX 5L Mustangs, owned one of the "underpowered" 98 Mustang GT's and pretty much have perfection with the 06 Mustang GT I have now between styling and Performance.
  2. Explorer in the next 18 months or so... But anyways, CAP isn't being fully utilized even with the sales of the Sable and Taurus X combined...hopefully the new Taurus will do much better.
  3. Why not? They need some differentiation from the Sport Model of the Fusion, plus they stated that .5 seconds have been shaved off 0-60 times
  4. The rear end looks pretty damn good...I like it...pretty interesting looking
  5. The problem with that thinking is that when people buy a Foreign make and have problems with it, they make up excuses and don't hold it to the same standard that they did with an American car. Hell my Focus I had was a total Turd. But the Mustangs I had before and after it where just about flawless. I don't see myself buying a Japanese made car anytime soon...esp when I can get a Ford product at a good discount and its made just as well as those Japanese cars.
  6. Ignoring the hideous color scheme on it, it looks alot better then the press teaser photo ford released!
  7. Why not? I can see the new Explorer coming out Winter 2009 or Spring 2010 The Taurus better show up...IIRC its supposed to go into production next spring!

  9. Obviously your not Ford's target demographic for the MKS...its the same deal as Coach handbags or other "luxury" items, you really don't need them, but they are "nice" and there is a demand for them, or at least used to be by people who can (or more recently cannot) afford them. Why limit yourself to selling a 25K car when you can make a 40K car and make a 15K more profit on it? I've been in the FWD Continental that was based on the old Taurus platform and it wasn't anything super special over a loaded Taurus either, even with it being built in a different plant...which BTW prob cost Ford even more money then just building it in Chicago or Atlanta at the time.
  10. I think you hit the nail on the head, my parents have a Sable and when I drove it, it felt like it was tight in the hip area vs my Mustang (or their Explorer they replaced it with). Plus I felt like I was sitting up too high in the car, due to the command seating.
  11. Not like the original Taurus wasn't a Audi 5000 clone either
  12. What would be the advantage of having the 2.7L V6 over the current 3L V6?
  13. What part of Mule don't you get? We saw an exteneded and widened Taurus X that eventually became the Flex, with very little camo on it when it was developing. We've seen Taurus X Mules with MKT front-ends with Camo on them. We've seen Sn95 Mustangs with 05 Front end clips on them to do cooling tests for the S197 Mustang. You have to seriously be smoking crack to think that a disjointed Flex frontend on a Taurus X body is going to look excactly like the upcoming Explorer...all they are doing are testing internal compents that you wouldn't see anyways. We won't see sheetmetal Mules for at least another year or so.
  14. Damn I thought that was the orginal Taurus from the Movie :P
  15. Was about to say the same thing!
  16. Looks like Ford was reading my mind! http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/04/sema-20...nter-baja-1000/
  17. Would be neat to see Ford campain one of these in a Baja race to see how it would do...
  18. How do you explain the success of the Edge and Escape then? The problem is that the current Explorer sales are in a free fall, and having yet another D3 based car means they can make a profit off them with only selling about 150K or so of them a year. The D3's success has been marred by two things: boring styling and bad luck (300 launch Vs the 500 and the Flex vs the rotten economy, the MKS seems to be bucking that trend though)...I'm willing to bet that things will turn around with the launch of the new Taurus next spring and the improving ecomomy will help the Flex.
  19. Wow this thing has all sorts of ballsy written all over it....fucking Awesome!

  23. Its a CD3-2 platform, the new Mazda6 in NA also uses it.
  24. For some reason the grill we've seen on the Spy shots looks different then this...maybe it was the sport model? That wasn't a very flattering photo...chalk up another strike for Ford press shots!
