  1. Um, that's your opinion. Mine is that the new one is a fine improvement, especially with the revised greenhouse.
  2. Apparently the Fiesta is due for an all-new platform (2017?), and IMHO would be the space to start for the B-segment CUV for North America and the EU.
  3. Maybe Ford might have changed the particular alloy of aluminum? There are many different aluminum alloys. Some, like those used in Russian MiG 15's, 17's and 19's, etc., are designed to oxidize; the aluminum oxide protection eliminates the need for painting. Then there's early Porsches, where on a cold, quiet winter night, it has been said that you could actually hear the faint hissing of the aluminum reacting with the salty slush and water.
  4. And it gets worse with the Trans Pacific Partnership. Scary stuff kept secret. Be afraid. Very afraid. Talk to your Congressman.
  5. If it were easy, everybody'd be doing it; as it is, most startups disappear like spit on a griddle. The marketing magic of being in the right place at the right time with the right product is elusive.
  6. I sure hope Ford goes with EB turbos, and does it the right way. Leave the mechanical superchargers to GM and Jaguar, IMHO.
  7. "Contenetial"? A troll who can't spell. You may believe the "Contenetial" (sic) is supposed to be a "Flagship", it seems that most believe it's just the latest Lincoln. You may not believe Lincoln is a real luxury brand, but it seems that as the months go by, the marketplace disagrees with you. Troll on, dude, troll on.
  8. Reminds me of the Pogue carburetor . . . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Nelson_Pogue It didn't work.
  9. At US $97K-130K base price range, that's more for the next MKT, not a Ford badge, IMHO.
  10. The cowl must be integral to the crash structure, or the vehicle loses torsional rigidity.
  11. "it only locates the windshield, and wipers. but has little to do with the integrity of the vehicle" — yeah, right. The cowl along with the "A" pillars are an integral part of overall vehicle rigidity, feeding load into the roof. As you know, that's why convertibles need extra reinforcement.
  12. Same for flying cars. Be it from pilot error or cheapskate maintenance, having flying cars falling out of the sky is not good.
  13. Unless the technology reduces impaired driving, then you may see society/government going to go along with it sooner rather than later.
  14. Just think of all those high-quality Bosch components.
