  1. Any chance they will offer the Ecoboost option in the F150?
  2. I have a 2006 Mountaineer that came with the overhead Rear DVD Entertainment System from factory. It had its flaws with the huge blind spot created when the screen was folded down for viewing. However, the screen was protected when folded up and not in use. I have not seen an actual Explorer with the Invision system, but only images. I see no protection of the screen when the system is not in use. Wouldn't one good accidental poke from the tip of an umbrella while entering the second or third row or the loading of a long piece of lumber render those units useless if damaged? bogeydog, does the screen have a hard plastic protective covering? Is there anyway to protect the units that I"m not seeing in the images? Just curious, dusMerc
  3. When I look at options for Edge/MKX, I don't see Active Park Assist. I assume this is because the vehicles do not come with electric power steering. Is that assumption correct? If it is, does anyone know if the vehicles will have electric power steering in the next model year?
  4. I don't see a cool box (2nd row console) as an option for the 2011 Ford Explorer.....add that along with a lane departure warning feature and the ability to use my IPhone apps with Sync.......I would pay for a Lincoln version with no hesitation
  5. I totally agree. The Aviator was a nice vehicle.....I was hoping that Lincoln would have kept it around for the 2006 model year to see how they would have differentiated it from the Explorer/Mountaineer. If you look at the list of options available on a fully loaded 2011 Explorer Limited; it makes you wonder, what else could Lincoln add (other than the new Lincoln front end)? I've owned two Mountaineers....it would have been interesting to see what the Mercury version would have looked like as well (wishful thinking).
  6. It appears that the Nav units for 2010 Mountaineer/Explorer are identical to the units in the 2010 Expedition. The expedition offers a rear view camera...and the Mountaineer/Explorer doesn't. Does anyone know if it is possible to add the rear view camera (thru the Nav unit) for the Mountaineer/Explorer?
  7. The overhead Rear DVD Entertainment System had its flaws with the huge blind spot created when the screen was folded down for viewing. However, the screen was protected when folded up and not in use. From the images I've seen of the DVD system in the headrest, I see no protection of the screen. Wouldn't one good accidental poke from the tip of an umbrella render those units useless?
  8. No rude comments.....just a nod! I owned a 1975 Granada Ghia; Nice car!! I traded up to a 1979 Versailles. Nice driving and great looking car (I loved the roof line changes introduced with the 1979 model year)....lots of problems with the carburetor...but I really liked the car. If I had the space to accommodate another vehicle, I would really consider looking for a 1980 Versailles (original condition, restored or restoration project). LM4EVR, did you own one?
  9. I'm curious, why do you feel Mountaineer should be based on Taurus X instead of next generation of Explorer? I'm not knowledgeable about Ford platforms, but I think the Taurus X and next gen Explorer are both based on the D3 platform. If Ford did continue the the Mountaineer, I think it would be cool if they based it on the D4 platform, on which the Flex/MKT are based on. What ever Ford decides to do, I would hope the Mountaineer would be a part of its future. Thanks, dusMerc

  11. Here is the 2010 Navigator Order Guide. Color, packaging and updated Sync are the only changes. dusMerc 2010_Navigator_Orde_Guide.pdf
  12. Here is the order guide for what may be the last Mountaineer. I rather see it cross over with Explorer than be laid to rest. 2010_Mountaineer_Order_Guide.pdf
  13. I have a 2006 Mountaineer Premier V8 w/ AWD. I live in Wisconsin...thus the AWD. I've owned the vehicle for a little over 2 years...so it has seen 2 winters. Recently, I noticed the running boards were becoming slower and slower in deploying and retracting. The passenger one got to the point where it stop retracting fully. When I took it in, I was told they would lubricate hinges for both sides...and the passenger side needed the running board assembly trans. replaced. Reason: corrosion from salt and moisture. That worries me because this is the last year of my warranty....and I don't want to be replacing running board assembly trans. every other year. Has anyone experienced issues with deployable running boards? Wisconsin liberally salts iced roads in winter.....so I shouldn't drive my Mountaineer in the rain or winter? The main purpose for me buying it was for those snowy Wisconsin winters. Living in Wisconsin, dusMerc
  14. Cool! Where did you get the pic? It definitely reflects the 1st generation with the concealed headlamps and sequential turn signals. dusMerc
  15. Please go to the 'Crown Victoria, Interceptor Concept, Grand Marquis, Marauder, Town Car Discusison Forum' to view 2009 order guides for Grand Marquis and Town Car. dusMerc

  17. That's really scary!!! I paid $35K (includes a $1000 rebate) for a 2006 Mountaineer....with all the equipment you mentioned plus AWD, DVD entertainment and Sirius. Listed at $41K. I wonder how much the dealer would offer me for mine? $8,900 is an insult. How many miles do you have on yours? dusMerc 2006 Mountainer Premier

  19. So are you saying that the 2010 Explorer will be BOF? Do you know if they will keep building the Mountaineer into 2010 as well? I have a 2006 Mountaineer. I was going to hold on to it until the last year of BOF Mountaineers (if that is the case) or the last year that they build them. Do you think that will be soon or will I be holding on to my Mountaineer for a LONG TIME? I hope the latter is the case. I would also hope by 2010, that Explorers/Mountaineers would offer the rear view camera and a power rear hatch as options. Thanks, dusMerc
  20. Sorry it took a while to get back. I wasn't able to take it to the dealer until July 20th. They found nothing wrong with it....no faulty sensor. The dealership said there were no existing service bulletins regarding this issue. I expected that type of response, considering it hasn't happened since June 15th. It's unnerving waiting for it to happen again....and just hoping that if it does happen, I won't be on the freeway. It's on record that I came in into the dealership with the issue...and if it happens again, I will be back at the dealership. I'll keep you posted if it happens again.
  21. I purchased my 2006 Mountaineer AWD (Premier w/ V8) June of 2006. The speedometer just turned 8000 miles (It had 181 miles when I bought it). It is a daily driver (I don't live far from work) and I live in Wisconsin and have made 2 trips to Arkansas......all uneventful. 2 weeks ago, I was driving and the truck began to lose power....that is when I noticed the Advanced Trac light flickering. I was driving about 40 mph and I had to pull over. I put the car in park and then back in drive. It happened again. I pulled over, turned off the vehicle; started back up and was able to get to my destination without any reoccurrences. It happened again today.....scary when you are in traffic moving 40 to 45 mph.....and you have to try to negotiate from a far left lane, thru a middle lane to get to the parking lane on the far right. Has this happened to anyone else (with any of the 4.6 products with Advanced Trac)? I have checked the "Ford Engine, Powertrain & Tech Forum" and I didn't see any posts. I am going to take it to the dealer tomorrow and see what they can tell me. I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this. Just an FYI......both days, the weather was 70 to 75 degrees and sunny........not a drop of rain and the roads were concrete-paved. Thanks, dusMerc 2006 Mercury Mountaineer Premier w/ V8
  22. The 07 order guides are very informative. I was wondering does anyone know if the 07 order guide is available for 07 mountaineer? If it is, some direction to the guide would be appreciated. Thanks
  23. Nice vehicle. I finally got a chance to test drive a Premier this past weekend. Nice features on the vehicle. I still don't get why they don't offer a wood package (as an option) in a vehicle that is filling the void of the Lincoln Aviator. The Explorer E.B. and Limited provide standard wood packages. Does anyone know the options for 2007? Will a wood package be an option?
