  1. Well, the original RAV4 was made from the Corolla's platform. It would probably sell great over here.
  2. TFL may "say" that, but trust me, they knew what they could and couldn't do. It was pretty spelled out to me as a small independent filmmaker, it was spelled out to them to as an automotive journalist group who deals with sensitive info.
  3. I'll chime in on this subject as I have contacted Ford about using a CAD model for a 1969 Mustang for my film. When I applied to use the CAD model I did have to write for them and explain how it would be used in the film. The car is a treasured family heirloom and factors extensively to the plot of the film. I did promise not to paint the car in a negative light. Now imagine if I depicted the car as a car that had to be towed away or wouldn't start at the worst possible moment for a cheap joke. Ford would probably terminate any future dealings with me and they wouldn't be in the wrong as I made a promise to them of how I would portray something so important to their heritage. TFL also had rules spelled out in front of them on how and when to use information they acquired. They chose to violate it. I don't feel sorry for them at all. Believe me, it was all spelled out in front of them. They knew in great detail what to do and what not to do. As for my film, I hope it sells a thousand more Mustangs and thank you Ford for that CAD model!
  4. I just looked up The Kia for its specs and I was shocked! I thought it was RWD/AWD and it's FWD/AWD! I thought it was a redesign of the Borrego and it's really a new product!
  5. I think it has to do with it looking a little too much like the old one. I have a hard time telling them apart at first glance, but now I look for the somewhat diagonal character lines down the side of the new one. In New England, the new Explorers are getting pretty common as of late.
  6. Hyundai and Kia seem to be doubling down with a stunning amount of new nameplate CUVs recently and the much praised Kia Stinger won't be getting a second generation according to several news outlets. It wouldn't surprise me that with Nissan cutting back on models if the Maxima and other sedans get pulled out of their offerings.
  7. Soon, Jeep is the only FCA brand to have more than three models.
  8. The previous owner of my 2012 put that plastic sheet on the hood and front fenders that is supposed to stop road debris from chipping the paint and that made it much worse. It looks like it did go all the way through. If I removed the plastic coating, a part of the hood would disintegrate and come off.
  9. My point is that lucky people don't have accidents to begin with. So every other car on the road at the time other than those three had better luck.
  10. Not quite. A really lucky guy has an undamaged car.
  11. I think they made the steel wheels on that model because if you use it off road, you're not so worried about damaging them as much as you would if each wheel was $1,000.
  12. If I don't already have the antibody when tested or if a doctor recommends it, I'm going to take the vaccine. It's better not to fool around with this disease. A doctor knows more about this than I do.
  13. It's the same rule at the company I work for in Massachusetts. I hate the mask, but I get the point of wearing it.
  14. I entered my film, "The Rover-Gift of Eden" into the Boston Film Festival. The Ford related thing is that not only is my 2012 Mustang one of the stars, it plays a 1969 Mustang due to CGI and Ford Motor let us lease their very detailed CAD model for it! The Mustang is one of the film industry's favorite cars, and I hope this film's heroic Mustang adds to the legend! https://www.facebook.com/pg/Atomcat-project-The-Rover-193579443992689/videos/?ref=page_internal
  15. I'm still working too, but I wear the mask and take precautions. I just don't want people to think this is something to take lightly.
  16. A 98 percent survival rate is a one in fifty chance of death. So If you had to take a flight for your job and get to the airport and there are fifty planes on the runway, and you find out a terrorist put a bomb in one of them, do you still take that flight?
