  1. If you have the time (and the money) wait for the Focus R/S, AWD and 315 HP+, that will be a hoot
  2. Will the MCE include LED low beams like the Explorer?
  3. From google 3,702 to 4,374 lbs 2015 Chevrolet Camaro, Curb weight save 200 lbs in the 2016 and new range 3502-4174 lbs? yes from google 3,526 to 3,705 lbs 2015 Ford Mustang, Curb weight, that big V8 in the Camaro carries some weight penalty Will Ford lighten the Mustang and increase the HP to leapfrog the Camaro at the low end of the range. It looks like they will not need to do anything at the top end but that is conjecture on my part.
  4. Not to mention I found it to be a better towing engine then the 3.5 L V I had in the Edge. The low end torque made pulling my 19 ft power boat to Maine this spring a breeze. The old Edge didn't handle it as well, seemed to power on the hills.
  5. Did get the Tractors you need to select the right vocation
  6. there are places in the US where it is legal as well and probably cheaper
  7. I am sure you had a better time in Barcelona then Amsterdam, typical dutch spring time weather does not warm the soul and Amsterdam in very over rated
  8. just got back from Amsterdam, half the taxis at Schiphol Airport were Tesla S models. It used to be all MBs when I was last there 5 years ago. Must have a hell of a tax break in NL for electric vehicles for those number to work.
  9. So, 16% of the these new sales from the midsize were existing Chevy truck customers and 9 out of the top 10 trade ins were already GM owners. It could be higher than 90% or lower than 90% because of the way they presented the trade in numbers makes it is hard to say. I wonder how many F150 owners traded down to the midsize truck.
  10. We just made our first trip to Maine with the boat in tow. We having been towing an 18 ft Eastern to Maine with our 2007 Edge for the last 8 years and it always felt a little overmatched. Our 2015 Escape seemed to handle the task with aplomb. The fuel economy during towing was similar to the Edge but the Escape seemed to handle the hills much better, actually dropping down in gear very infrequently compared to my experience towing the same boat with the 2007 Edge. The 2 liter ecoboost may be better towing engine than the old 3.5 L V6 due to the flatter torque curve. My wife and enjoyed owning our old Edge but this Escape has more than surpassed our expectations.
  11. 65,000 for a tarted up volt, what were they thinking. High price hybrids should do more than save gas
  12. We have new 2015 Escape Titanium and will say that it is about a quiet drive as I had in any mass market vehicle. Is the 2 liter less noisy than the 1/5/1.6 L?
  13. The so called wonder engines from Mazda can't tow worth sh*t, the properly equipped Ecoboost Escape, 3500 lbs, Mada CX5, 2000 lbs. No contest
  14. We loved our old 2007 Edge but in the end my wife felt it was just two big as a daily driver for one person, we replaced it with a 2015 Escape titanium. We get the ability to tow 3500 lbs in smaller more nimble package and fuel efficient with the Escape. When you go from 4 people and dog to two people and a dog, the need for the commodious space of the an Edge is just overkill. Originally want a Flex when we bought Edge and after driving one on business I am glad we didn't wait, it drove well but would have been total waste of space and money for what we need in vehicle. Great Highway cruiser.
  15. We have an 2015 Escape(2.3 L) and 2015 Audi 2.0L, both are direct inject turbo 4's and from a MPG and power perspective behave in a similar manner. Drive it in a manner consistent with normal driving patterns, MPG's are as advertised, spirited driving, for get about it. I think this is an intrinsic attribute of these type of engines. The fun doesn't come without cost, but since when has that not been the case in all things
  16. We stepped down rom the Edge to the Escape because my wife felt it was too large as a daily drive for one person going back and forth to work. The Escape feels like better fit for her and can still tow our boats to Maine in spring if it ever shows up that is> I assume that the Edge has maintained its 3500 tow capacity.
  17. Unsurprisingly in most of the comps I saw the two newest models, the Mazda 6 and Sonata consistently at the top of the pack. Camry mostly in the middle or rear of the pack, it is a very competitive segment of the market and it would seem that "the all new Camry" doesn't stack up well against more modern design alternatives.
  18. I just traded in my 2006 A4 convertible for 2015 A3 Conv. The CVT transmission used on the convertibles had problems historically that caused Audi to increase the warranty. The fact that I got 9 years of service out of the that transmission was miracle. I trade it in because I felt I was living on borrowed time with that thing The new one has 6 speed dual clutch transmission that has been for a while and should have the bugs worked out. By the way it is a wet clutch DSG. I doesn't seem to have any problems at low speed travel.
  19. If you looked at the Feb 2015 total sales of CUS and SUVS only the Rav4 and 4runner ( of all things) grew.
  20. It will be interesting see who the other Automakers do In Feb. In New England auto sells plain an simply sucked. My Audi dealer told me they were done over 50% from a typical month. The weather really kept people in. There was hardly anyone at my Ford dealer when we bought the Escape over President's day weekend, snowing if I recall but that was norm for the month.
  21. Two years ago we rented a Wrangler on Kauaii, we disliked the jarring ride, the leaky roof and overall road noise experience. On our most recent trip we rented an escape se. They tried to talk us into "upgrading" to a wrangler for $15/day more. The escape was quiet, quick and comfortable and was able to take us everywhere we wanted to go with almost 30 mpg. We enjoyed the vehicle so much that we replaced our 2007 edge with a 2015 Escape Tit over the weekend. While the wrangler can go places the escape can't, here in New England that kind of capability is rarely needed with the exception of some those individuals who like to explore the logging roads of northern New England. As an aside, we took delivery of the Escape during the inception of one of our many snow events. My wife and I both felt that the new escape handled the snow even better then our edge. We replaced the Edge with the smaller Escape because my wife felt uncomfortable driving such large vehicle as a daily commuter with only one occupant. The Escape gives us the towing capacity we need in a smaller and more fuel efficient package.
  22. Funny thing, Australia has some pretty good deserts for this kind of testing as well, and it is summer there now. Just saying
  23. I believe in the category in which it will compete, 4.0 L. I picked that up I think on Jalopnik
  24. Naive question, is this the transmission that Ford and Chevy were collaborating on? I didn't read anything about GM in the original posts
