  1. I guess it would serve both purposes.
  2. Everything I've seen says "employee pricing" is the A plan price, although it typically replaces other incentives, especially rebates. So actual A plan plus rebates might be better than "employee pricing" without rebates or with reduced rebates.
  3. I don't think it's so much fleet sales as a lowball base price.
  4. I think support in this context meant NRA membership.
  5. It will be interesting to see how it competes performance wise with the MkZ. If the ATS is lighter then it should have an advantage, otherwise the specs seem virtually identical except for the non-AWD models driven wheels. The styling is decent inside and out but all those "BMW 3 fighter" comments are going to come back to haunt them with every road test.
  6. You had a defective tranny and your dealer refused to acknowledge it and you refused to go to another dealer. Then you went out and bought a Corolla and proclaimed it the best vehicle ever. Then because you had problems you start telling everyone that all Focus' have tranny problems. They don't. I own one. Other people here own one. They're not defective and with the latest software there have been NO complaints that I've seen or heard of. Get over it already or be labeled accordingly.
  7. Just because you get more from another dealer for your trade-in doesn't mean you were getting "low-balled" per se. When a dealer takes a trade-in they're either wholesaling it at auction in which case they'll only give you black book or they may decide they can sell it on their lot and give you a little more, but it's still going to be wholesale. Now let's say your local dealer already has several similar Edges in stock or they just aren't selling many with your color and/or options........they have to offer you less or they risk losing money on the deal. Another dealer may be a totally different situation with inventory and sales history. Prices can also vary from week to week and month to month as the overall market and supply changes.
  8. You can spot the people who want their vehicle tracked from a mile away.
  9. Is an Explorer that much bigger than a Grand Cherokee?
  10. Nope. Any problem that occurs repeatedly or multiple visits for different problems usually triggers a lemon law buyback (although this varies by state). It doesn't have to be a major issue or a safety issue.
  11. Ed - all you seem to be able to do is call people names in a derogatory manner, accuse conservatives of wanting to kill poor people and complain about the current state of affairs. Why don't you elaborate on what you would fix and how you would fix it because whining about something doesn't help. Conservatives believe that most of the "poor" people are poor by choice because they're too lazy to work or they're not willing to put forth the effort to obtain higher education or training to get higher paying jobs. These people will do the bare minimum required of them to get by. If you take away public assistance then they'll go find a job. I do agree that unemployment insurance is good but I also agree that many people abuse it by not looking for a job right away. That's just common sense. Many people would rather sit at home and collect a check for not working given a choice.
  12. It's the size of the battery pack. More range = more batteries = more weight = $$$$$. 20 seems to be a good compromise. I expect the same from the Fusion Energi.
  13. The question is whether Ford is doing everything it can. They still have to work through the dealerships so they're somewhat at their mercy to follow through. One thing they could do is allow owners to get their own rental cars and reimburse them.
  14. The rules clearly say that you must tell the salesperson immediately if you plan to use x plan. That said, most dealers won't care. The exception might be if you negotiate a retail sale with a higher than normal trade-in value, then try to switch it to Xplan but keep the same trade-in value. That won't work and isn't fair to the dealer.
  15. Every 06 Fusion owner would disagree with you. Your anecdotal evidence is no better than anyone else's.
  16. All Ford NEEDS is for people like you to stop telling them what they need.
  17. Nothing new. Canada used to get cloth heated seat options on limited models that we never got in the U.S. When the Lincoln LS was MCEd in 2003 they had 4 vehicles - V6 and V8, Sport and Non Sport. They decided at the last minute to drop the V6 Sport and V8 non sport from the U.S. but you could still get them in Canada. Not sure why it's different other than - it can be.
  18. My issue with "no-haggle" dealerships is that some of them play games with fees and add-ons or other ploys to get the sale or get more profit from the deal and that bothers me more than a honest dealer who only haggles a little. Even before I used X plan I never haggled - just asked for their best price up front and took the best offer.
  19. It's Ford's responsibility regardless of the source. My guess is the supplier has been asked to document what went wrong and why and to provide a plan of action to make sure it doesn't happen again. I would also expect Ford to inspect and/or test parts from this supplier much more often or to modify their inspection/test methods if this was missed. It's just a PIO - Process Improvement Opportunity.
  20. Not sure but I think this is the pre-production prototype.....
  21. I only recall people pointing out other mfr recalls to prove that all mfrs (even Honda and Toyota) have recalls and failed parts. In today's environment, there are going to be things that slip by. The key is how it's handled. Catching something early and acting swiftly to fix it and limiting it to a small number of vehicles is key. Ignoring a problem or not reacting swiftly or trying to hide the problem is NOT acceptable and I will call that out when I think I see it. And that's not the case here. Continuing to have problems one after the other would point to a systemic process problem that should be fixed and would lead me to worry about the brand in general - again, that's not the case here.
