  1. FHEV = Full Hybrid Electric Vehicle PHEV = Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle FCEV = Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle C-Max had a FHEV and PHEV, for example.
  2. I'd be surprised if this gets sourced from anywhere other than India, long term. Rumors from a few years ago had Fiesta leaving Mexico, to be sourced from Thailand. It would make sense to bring all the B-segment product into NA from Asia, C-segment from Mexico, everything larger in US/Canada.

  6. This magazine hasn't had much credibility with me in a while, this destroyed what little they had left. There is no possible way to confuse the DPS6 and the 6F15.
  7. 2016 Mustang - left hand instrument panel air vent has been rattling since 600 miles. Power window adjustment switch has been buzzing since 1,000 miles. Rough pavement causes them, but it's silent on smooth concrete or asphalt.
  8. Now that it's making it to Europe, I would hope (though I'm sure it won't) that it comes to the United States. I could see it as the perfect winter car and I'd be able to put the Mustang in the garage for the winter. I'm sure my family would be all over it as well, simple, basic cars are far too rare in the US.
  9. Office space/admin buildings at all the plants are being updated, looks like OAC is up first. The plants themselves are a different story.
  10. Track side is being updated. Wind Tunnel 2 is being torn down as we speak. One of the old airport hangars is next.
  11. Marketing is in one building two miles away, purchasing in a different building a mile away, etc. Ideally they can all walk to each other now. That's the "consolidation" I mean.

  13. There is a 2.0L MKX for China export only. But you are correct, US is 3.7L V6 or 2.7L GTDI.
  14. Why not just bring the B segment over from Asia? Import the Fiesta from Thailand and the EcoSport from India. Neither will likely sell in enough volume to justify a NA plant, but that doesn't mean that they shouldn't be sold in NA.

  16. MKX is available in China, South Korea, and other select markets. Edge is exported from Oakville to over 100 markets.
  17. MKX isn't going RHD... the OAC post referred to "CDX" which is CD539X, RHD Edge export.
  18. Oakville also is an amalgamation of 2 previously separate plants - Ontario Truck Plant and Oakville Assembly Plant were previously two independent plants on the same site that has now been reconfigured into the Oakville Assembly Complex That's why it's so huge in comparison.
  19. Absolutely not true. The 1.0L I3 in the North American Focus is paired to either the B6 manual or the 6F15 automatic. The 6F15 launched in China on the Chinese Escort, produced at Chongqing Tranmsission Plant.
  20. Wouldn't it be the 6F15? Escort shouldn't need the torque capability of the 6F35.
  21. I have one of the early 2012 Focuses with the DCT. The input shaft seal leaked and by 28k the original clutches were toast. Replaced the -A level clutch with the -D level clutch at 28k, shift quality improved dramatically, but the 15B22 update has completely eliminated shudder on one condition - A/C is off. When A/C is on, it now has the potential to shudder on a start, but it doesn't do it every time. It's almost *more* frustrating when it's so intermittent now, it'll go an entire week without shuddering. I would hope that the new -F clutches are even better such that my very intermittent shifts are even less frequent on new build Focuses. As long as the clutches are completely uncontaminated, there's no reason the thing should shift poorly. The DCT is an amazing piece of technology, and one of the reasons I bought the Focus in the first place.
  22. Sticker has to go on at the plant, so it has to be generated prior to build.

  24. I'm sorry to hear that. As someone who worked very hard to get the MKX into production, I'm sorry to see that your order has, for whatever reason, been slipping. It's a knockout product.
