Fallacy of Electrics
HotRunrGuy replied to Bob Rosadini's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Last year, I needed to run a new line out to my garage to feed an electric garage heater, so I decided to up-size the conduit and ran #6 to add a 14-50R outlet, which I may never use/need. But, at least it's there in the event a guest needs it, or this house is sold. Copper ain't getting any cheaper, so I'm glad I did it when I did. HRG -

If you are talking about the article on FA, it will be interesting to see if Pulte actually starts building houses with garages deep enough to fit a Lightning,,,,,, HRG -
Fallacy of Electrics
HotRunrGuy replied to Bob Rosadini's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
I have a nat-gas whole house generator, and know when the utility power goes down, my transfer panel disconnects from the grid, to avoid killing linemen. Researching solar a bit, it looks like they incorporate a similar grid-disconnect, for the same reason. https://www.vivintsolar.com/learning-center/how-solar-power-feeds-grid If something happens to the grid, such as it shuts down or varies from the standard specifications, your solar energy system will also shut down unless you have a solar power battery backup for your system that has been configured for these types of situations. The main reason your system will shut off in response to a grid shut down is to prevent your system from sending power into the grid while any electrical workers are operating on it. We do everything we can to make sure our solar energy systems are safe for everyone involved, so they can enjoy clean power without and added concerns. Once the grid power back on, your system should follow suit. So, they may or may not be willing to using a BEV to feed the grid,,,, HRG -
Hope you get it. We added a new Edge in the family this year, OACJay and his team did a fine job! HRG

Dealer ADM Consequence So Far
HotRunrGuy replied to bigzaj's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Yes, but the M in MSRP stands for Manufacturers, or that Ford is suggesting what the sell price could be. Jgking is saying that the Dealer is adding his ADM and making it look like Ford is suggesting the inflated number. HRG -

I'm starting to see window stickers with this "option" on it, Rear Auxiliary Controls Credit ($50), I wonder if this is just missing the chip, to be installed later, or a complete deletion of the rear controls? HRG -

Ford to sell vehicles without features enabled
HotRunrGuy replied to jasonj80's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Unfortunately, if the final sale is handled by a dealer, there will still be those willing to take advantage and abuse the customer. All we can hope for is that there is sufficient competition in the marketplace to give consumers a choice in what they purchase. I may have 30 years of "buying Ford", but I'm not going to pay a premium to do so. HRG -
Let's hope you can avoid the BOF-Moderator ADM special deal,,,,, HRG
