  1. This weekend I got 31 mpg on my new GT (auto), going slowly (about 55) on an empty, flat road with no wind. Real life highway driving seems to be about 25-26 mpg. Pretty good, I think.
  2. When was your GT built? I just got mine, and so far I don't notice any problem. Did you notice yours right away, or did it take awhile to develop? Is it at certain speeds or other driving conditions? Do you think it's coming from the front wheels only?
  3. I just got the Electronics Package in my new Mustang. It looks very well thought out and integrated with Sync, Sirius, voice commands, etc. It is much, much better than a stand-along nav. unit. Much more expensive, of course, but I think the Electronics package really changes the feel of the car to one that is on the cutting edge of computer technology. Maybe not quite so cutting edge as the new Edge (no pun intended), but still way ahead of the competition.
  4. I ordered mine 8/17; it came in yesterday. A little over 5 weeks. Not bad.
  5. The MKS ecoboost would be a blast to drive, and is a good looking car. I vote for it. The only thing I don't like about it is the footwell. I rented one earlier this year (not an ecoboost) and couldn't get comfortable cruising on the highway because I couldn't find anyplace to put my right foot. If that is not an issue for you, I say go for the MKS.
  6. I ordered a GT today. I am told that the wait time is 6-8 weeks here in New Mexico.
  7. If all goes well, I will put in my order tomorrow for a Kona Blue GT. The dealer told me 6-12 weeks, with a probable time of about 8 weeks. I don't know how reliable that is.
  8. Let me know how you like the automatic. I am thinking of getting the same setup, for the same reasons--got tired of shifting. I would be interested to hear your review, especially whether it works to shift some of the gears yourself (does it go from 3 to 6? how fast can you go comfortably in third gear?) and how well the downshift works when it is in Drive.
  9. Thanks for the information. That's too bad. I would like to buy a Ford when it is time to trade in the Grand Marquis, but if I want RWD, which I do, it looks like the Mustang will be the only choice. I guess I'll have to go Japanese or Korean. Ford should have a RWD sedan.
  10. Is the new Explorer going to be RWD or FWD? I sure hope it will continue to be RWD.
  11. I can't believe those wheels and tires don't make for an uncomfortable ride. It's too bad you can't get the Sport with some reasonable wheels, and tire that have a little sidewall.
  12. I just rented from Avis, and learned that Avis and Budget have just merged. Avis had a ton of Fords, Mercurys, and Lincolns.. Budget has a lot too. I rented an MKS to try it out.
  13. To get back on topic, Mr. Rosadini, please let us know how the ride in the SHO compares to the Crown Vic. Is it smoother? Harsher?
  14. The U.S., Ford, and the UAW members would be better off without the UAW. What a terrible organization; it has done so much damage to the U.S. economy. The thinking shown by the recent contract rejection is why Michigan is in the dire straits it is in. I hope the days of the UAW are numbered. Maybe then we can start to rebuild.
  15. We just bought a new car to replace our Town Car. I wanted to buy a Ford, but my wife did not want a Mustang, and I didn't want a FWD car to to get another Panther (neglected for too long). So we bought an Infiniti G37. I may get my Mustang in a year or two, but I think Ford needs a RWD option for a sedan.
  16. The reviewer, Jack Baruth, has recently given good reviews to the 2010 Taurus, the 2010 Mustang, and the 2020 Fusion Sport AWD. I tend to like and respect Jack's opinions, so that's good.
  17. Good write up. I got to get a good look at a 2010 Taurus Limited AWD yesterday at one of our local dealerships. It had the paddle shifters. I also got a brochure, and it says that you can get the paddle shifters on the SEL and Limited, as well as the SHO. The car was being shown by a guy from Ford Motor Company, who drives it around to different dealerships and talks to people. He was much more knowledgeable than most sales people, so it was a good dealership experience. The Taurus was a very good looking car. It may be the best car Ford has ever built. I think it will be a hit. My wife loved it; she can't wait to trade in her 2004 Town Car for an AWD Limited.
  18. Maybe in the next couple of years the adults will take over the job of running California, and kick out the children. We can only hope. Otherwise, California will go down the tubes. How can a state of such great beauty, natural resources, talent, etc. be so poorly run? And the worst of it is California is exporting its terrible ideas and "leaders" (e.g. Pelosi, Waxman) to the rest of the country.
  19. Ford will be competing against the U.S government for the next couple of years. That should be an easy win, except for the open checkbook that will be given to post-bankruptcy Chrysler and GM. The whole situation is absurd. I for one will never buy a car from GM or Chrysler as long as the government is involved in their ownership and operation. I hope many others feel the same way.
  20. You guys who think this is OK, just wait. When the socialists get in control, you never know who they will turn on next. Eventually it will be you. You can have freedom, or you can have Obama & Co. You aren't going to get to keep both.
  21. I am sooo sick of GREEN. I hate GREEN. I want a bumper sticker that says SICK OF GREEN! "Green" is now a code word for having the government tell you how to live.
  22. I think most people would be willing to agree that the Panther is outdated, and that a modern replacement vehicle would be good. What worries me is there Ford may not provide a modern replacement, but instead will try to shoehorn a FWD platform like the D3 into the Panther market. Ford may yet turn the D3 into a success (or may not), but I question whether it will ever be a success as a police car, taxi, or limo. Can't Ford build a modern RWD vehicle, like GM, Chrysler, BMW, Nissan, Lexis, etc.?
  23. I'd probably rather have an AWD MKS than a Town Car, but once you consider that the MKS would cost $45,000, and you can get a 1-2 year old Town Car for $20,000, the scales tip in a different direction.
  24. Thew view of several on the board (including me?): A=Who cares B= Grand Marquis C= Crown Vic taxi version D= Town Car E= Town Car L :happy feet:
  25. I didn't say or mean to imply that you are a prick. I just said that when I was a teenager and I saw another kid in a fancy car, I tended to think he was likely a prick, with parents who had too much money and too little sense. I wasn't always right, I am sure. but I think I was often right.
