  1. Sup, With all these "Fighters" developed by GM, maybe it is time for a detention. Send Lutz home from school and right to his room. He can sit on his racecar bed and cry. I remember back when I was a teen there was a game for the SNES car Super Punch Out. It was a boxing game. There was a character named Gabby Jay and his record was 1- 99, reminds me of GM for some reason. Peace Skape
  2. Sup, Not that I am knocking the idea, but why would you want manual control over an Escape?. Seems like it would benefit a sporty car better. Skape
  3. Sup, In my world I spell Nelly, P-E-A-R-L J-A-M and rap G-R-U-N-G-E or R-O-C-K. Thanks for the step dad comments, it was an up hill battle. The worst part was the fact I shaved my head when he went for chemo, and he ended up growing hair. I could not believe it. Not to mention I had pretty long hair at the time. Even funnier is that it was donated to Lock of Love and a little girl got it. So now my hair endowed step dad gets to laugh at this picture of a smiling 11 year old girl wearing a wig made of my hair. God I love life Peace Skape P.S. it was worth donating my hair to see that girl smile. Stupid sappy moment, ruining BON for everyone.
  4. Sup, I just read a magazine article on the new 5.0l. Other than the powdered metal connecting rocds, the rest of the engine looks pretty built. It was like a 19 page article. It explained a lot. Skape
  5. Sup, Does anyone have a guess when they will release the car to the press for review?. I am interested in getting one and want to hear a review for one first. My step dad just was cleared of his cancer and I want to get one for us to work on as a team. I owe him one. Peace Skape
  6. Sup, I took my last year bonus check and dumped it into for stock. I bought 15,000 shares at $2.03 and 10,000 more at just shy of $4.00. I hope to keep it as a "Build my Dream Home" Fund. Being in law during an economic crisis is very.... unfortunatly.... safe. Peace, Skape
  7. Sup, They should call it the Mercury Marshall. The they could use the tag line "The new Mercury Marshall, because everyone likes to be at the front of the parade". or "The new Mercury Marshall, suck it Buick". Peace Skape
  8. Sup, I never said the GM made a better blower, I am saying American muscle classically uses a super charger, and most people have the image of the pony car with the olf GM blowers. I was not saying they were better, just that it is what people think of when thinking about the Muscle car. As a child I vividly remember these huge GM blowers sticking out of the hoods of drag cars and the like. It is American as drag racing. Oh and I will not look up PSI blowers, I know more about them than most already. Next time I will clarify what I mean better. That being said, there is no way anyone can convince me to buy a turbo muscle car. It does not fit my view of what I believe a muscle car should be. It should be rough, a bit crude, and be driven by me. This is why I had the idea of an AWD Mustang. Anyone can drive a GT-R fast, but not everyone can drive a Mustang fast. It takes a bit more talent and ability than letting some computer do it for you. Besides everytime I hear a turbo blow off vavle let loose, I cringe in ricer paranoia. Peace Skape
  9. Sup, I am with snooter on this one. Turbo's are great on smaller displacment engines, and you are right about the fastest cars having turbos, but if the SVO Stang proved anything, the pony car world does not buy turbo's. To keep the pony car image alive a super charger is the way to go. I am not sure how old y ou people are but back in the pony car years, does anyone remember the GM 6-71 blowers?. Super Charging screams pony car. It is just the way it is. I agree that there are some benefits to turbo charging, but there are benefits to super charging as well. I would not buy a Mustang if they went to a turbo, and I plan on ordering one. Same with the EB idea. If they replaced the V8 with a 3.5l EB 6, I would not even consider a Mustang anymore. I am placing my order for a 5.0 'Stang as soon as I am able. I then plan on super charging it. I figure leave the GT500 alone, it already make 540hp on a SC, why would you need a turbo set up. I must say though, I would love to see how a 5.0l would do with a turbo setup, just not from the factory. Too ricer for me, but the numbers I would love to see. Skape. P.S. I own a turbo BMW right now, and I still prefer a SC feel.
  10. Sup, I can see the taglines now: "Get ready to touch your Sync" "This car has everything, except the kitchen Sync" The puns would be unbelieveable Peace Skape
  11. Sup, If I had to take a stab at the 2011 gt's 1/4 and 0 - 60 times I would say 12.8 - 12.9 at 111 and maybe 0-60 in 4.6 or 4.7 Skape
  12. Sup, If anything should be used I would think it should be the GT-S model. That should be the stripper. The LX should be left in the naming convention gravyard. Skape
  13. Sup, Know what I find funny is that P71 had to have read this thread to get the link. So he skulks around here obviously, and then has the ignorance to call Ford fans cheerleaders?. His obsessive nature seems to be far worse than any cheerleading Ford fans are doing. On a side note, great article bro, keep it up. I look forward to reading more of your stuff in the future. Skape
  14. Sup, I have been in Canada awhile now and have noticed that, like the USA, diesels are considered to be for pickup trucks and large delivery vans. Few small vehicles, outside of VW's, get a diesel engine. The polution controls here are very strict. Skape
  15. Sup, Yeah horsepower isn't everything. Torque is important aswell. Not to mention just because an engine makes the same power as another does not mean they make it at the same level. Get torque early is important, the v6 will make it further up the power band. Skape
  16. Sup, I think they should leave the Mustang be. Why mess with a good thing?. This trend for cars to go all super handly(?) and what not is starting to make me laugh. Somewhere the current generation forgot how to drive. To me, and probably me, cars with less than steller dynamics are more fun. Earlier this year I test drove a 370z. That thing handles like a man possessed. The suspension is utterly unbelieveable, but it left me cold. I really didn't have to drive the car. All i did was turn, thats it. I didn't have to fight it, or get ready for the tail to ride out, same with all these AWD monsters like the GTR. Great car, but where is the soul?. The Mustang has a soul. It is raw, unrefined, it is the quitisential muscle car. It's the kind of car that was build by drivers and not engineers. I love driving me BMW, it is refined to the tits, but it lacks that soul. Ferrari is a good example of this. Italian refinment lacking soul. It's Like the difference between Pavortotti and Eddie Vedder. One is a Italian refinemnt, the other gutteral, raw, American soul. I guess I just prefer to rock is all. Skape
  17. Sup, Yeah, I know what you mean. When I rolled off Matt's mom the other night she was saying how rediculous it was that he was discussed here so much. As for the truck, I think it would be perfect for pullinh his Mom off of me. Then again it could only move 30,000 pounds 300 ft. I may need something bigger. What vehicles is this engine slated for?. 250, 350, or is it just for the bigger trucks. Skape
  18. Sup, I disagree with the idea that they should change the grill for the CUV's. The diea behind most luxury car builders is a similar design language. All BMW's have a similar grill, Mercedes as well. Cadillac is another example. They are instantly recognizable. The second you see the grill on a BMW, even if it is a model you have never seen, you know what it is. Same with the Caddy. Using the current grill on all the vehicles makes people say "I am not sure what it is, but I know it is a lincoln". Using 2 will just confuse people. Let's face it, people are not that bright and need all the help they can get. Skape
  19. Sup, Put fold out style cougar head lights on it, and there is your Cougar Gentlemen Skape
  20. Sup, Okay i was reading the MKT comparo and something came to me. Somewhere in the review, the person reviewing mentioned that where Cadillac had turned into a Performance/Luxury brand, Lincoln had become and all out Luxury brand. Anyway, why not take that approach with the Mercury division. You could make a few sporty cars, something along the lines of the Miata or a smaller 350z. You could leave the all out luxury stuff to Lincoln, and the Semi-luxury/Sport to Mercury. Is this a really bad idea, am I really off base here?. Any thoughts? Skape P.S. Let's leave the Cougar out of it. It would be to muscular for what I mean, although I would love to see one.
  21. Sup, Jelly is right, there is a trend. The trend is that Europeans prefer cheap cars. Other than the Insignia and the 3 Series, all the cars on that list come in for thousands less than the Mondeo. Now I know you are going cry fowl Jelly, so I went to all the UK car sites for these vehicles, and I converted the prices to American dollars. This is for the benefit of the viewing audience, being most are from the US on this forum. Everyone of these vehicles is the base (cheapest) model available. here goes: Mondeo - $29,542.28 Focus - $23,971.37 Fiesta - $17,361.82 Hyundai i10 - $12,111.18 Magna Corsa - $16,796.60 VW Golf - $23,048.29 Peugeot 207 - $16,368.72 BMW 3 series - $35,245.97 Magna Astra - $25,681.47 Magna Insignia - $28,895.63 Toyota Yaris - $15,741.40 For the record, the Insignia is priced pretty good compared, so I will give you that one. The 3 Series is a bit of an anomaly because of the Luxury brand it is. As for the rest, they are all $6,000 or more cheaper than the Mondeo. Your biased Jelly, and it shows. You try and make information fit you theory as opposed to make the theory fit the evidence. You can have a hate on for the Mondeo all you like. Maybe it is because your precious Cortina is gone, and that pisses you off or maybe a Mondeo raped your mother and killed your father. Whatever the reason, you refuse to accept the fact that maybe it is a good car that sells like other cars in it's bracket. Does anyone know the sales for the Mondeo last month?. Remember Jelly a smart man admits when he is wrong, and an ignorant man tries to prove his wrong to be right. Either way, I am putting you on ignore. I live beside a farm, I see enough bullshit most days. I don't need to see it here. Peace Skape
  22. Sup, Maybe Ford should entertain the Miata. If they could get the chassis they should make that the Capri. It would make a nice little 2 seat roadster, and would not cut into the Mustang being it would be 4 banger nor a real sports car. Then they could take that convertible concept, rename it the Cortina. Finally the world would have a Cortina that wasn't completely unimaginative and derived. Jelly would be happy and the forums would hit equilibrium once again. God, I have to much fun. Skape
  23. Sup, Hey how about "Buick, a new pain the class" Skape
  24. Sup, I think it is cool, but it would be way more awesome if the first ad said something like "Buick. The new class of world class... and class is in session". I know it is lame, but it is funny. Peace, Skape
