  1. Owning a few 6.2 SD’s and frequenting the ford truck forums I can tell you that the most trouble free motor Ford puts in a truck is the 6.2. In the 150 the MPG difference between 5.0 and 3.5 EB is minimal with the 5.0 being a much simpler motor. EcoBoost is a whole lot of hype IMO.
  2. Guess so if there’s no V8, disgusted if they put money into a hybrid instead of dropping a V8 in.
  3. If I ran the number on buying a vehicle with hybrid technology I find it highly unlikely it would pay off for me. The electric grid in this country cannot handle a mass change to electrics anyway. Start stop can be as seamless as possible but it will never be the same as the engine running. I don’t want to press a switch every time i get in a vehicle either. I have mostly found the nonsense behind reducing carbon footprints and increasing MPG to cost consumers quite a bit of money in the long run. All this talk of a hybrid Bronco is hilarious too, give me a 5 liter or I won’t buy one (my last onewas a 94 and would love to buy a new one someday but no V8 is a deal breaker for me).
  4. They can keep this electric stuff, keep building the Super Duties with a big V8 (without start stop bs or any other hybrid junk) is all I ask in the future
  5. It’s about time they decided to compete with the Power Wagon. Hopefully 7X is available.
  6. Agreed, they had the mod’s on their list for quite a while and I always found the 5.4 to be a pile of crap in comparison to the competition.
  7. Still a few left rolling at Mass State Police (saw few at Middleboro barracks last week).
  8. Hopefully the 5.0 makes it into the Bronco, charge extra I don’t care I don’t want a V6.
  9. Please let this motor shown up in 250-350 applications. Was going to order a 19 to replace my 17 350 but holding out for this motor and hoping I can actually get it.
  10. I doubt its not durable enough, 18 wheelers have been using aluminum cabs for ages.
  11. Surprised they are still using the old SD body, I would guess we will see the new Aluminum Cab soon?
  12. Everything I have read says 7.3 pushrod motor. The changes look minimum to the exterior, supposed to be a 10 speed but wonder if that will be across the line or only certain motors/series. Planning on ordering a 19 soon to get the well tested 6R140.
  13. No Super Cab availability of course. Ordering a 19 soon and would love this package but I guess the regular Lariat will have to do if its not available.
  14. Slightly off topic but does anyone know if NYC still has any Crown Vic taxis running around? I always get a kick out of seeing Boston and Mass State Police still running Crown Vics this far after they have been out of production now.
  15. Two guys at work are waiting on the V8 to replace 2012s so if its not coming there are going to be in my view a fair amount of dissappointed potential customers. Would have been on my shopping list when I bought my SD but no V8 crosses it off my list. With the SD and 150 sharing so many components now if they are not going to put 7 liter in just offer the 6.2 as base motor in Raptor for those who must have a V8.
  16. Agreed, they definently are hard to justify nowadays. I miss the days of the 7.3 and 5.9 that were good for couple hundred thousand miles without doing much.
  17. Maybe it makes sense for profits but are they really taking everything into account? There are people like my mother who have only ever owned Ford sedans and have no interest in SUV’s (I tried to get her in Escape when she bought her last Fusion) that they are just walking away from.
  18. Highly disappointing but I am getting used to it with Ford by now, just get rid of Shelby designation if it’s not going to have a manual.
  19. Should have never bothered bringing back the name plate if V8 won't be offered in my opinion. Just name it something else if all they wanted to do is create another Bronco II.
  20. I disagree CAFE says nothing about requiring start stop, it's Ford's choice to add it. Find other ways to improve fuel economy without sticking people with something they don't want. The fact that 2018 Raptors have start stop is mind boggling.
  21. Agreed with the Bronco, 5 liter in the Bronco or expect a lot of very disappointed Bronco fanatics. I gave up on waiting for new one and looking for 94-96 Bronco (had a 94 back in the day that I still dearly miss).
  22. Yes they have lost actual sales to it he said. A $60k (ok say really $50k after rebates) truck has a feature that saves maybe $50 a year? What is the reasoning behind a feature like that? I am not modifying anything including the electronics of a $50k vehicle brand new, would you? Ford should just get rid of the start stop, if it was an option no one would get it.
