P71_CrownVic
Twin turbo with the name Ecoboost. Its all about marketing. I'm not sure the Ecoboost will be able to tow much either though. They are both good ideas, but they need work. Hmm...Ecoboost or Hybrid... Think with a sheeple's mind...
TomServo92
You are -completely- gone. At least GM has a hybrid. What do you think that people are going to associate with fuel economy, twin turbos or the word "hybrid"? Actually they'll look at three little letters: MPG How they get there, whether it be hybrid tech or Ecoboost, is irrelavent.
suv_guy_19
Hmm...Ecoboost or Hybrid... Think with a sheeple's mind... if Ecoboost is marketed right, it may gain the recognition.
silvrsvt
if Ecoboost is marketed right, it may gain the recognition. Excatly, thats what its all about....Ever hear of Bose? Ford has one of the best marketers in the world now...lets see what he can do

What do you think that people are going to associate with fuel economy, twin turbos or the word "hybrid"? i have not seen (and i am being honest here) one silverado hybrid since they came out a while back......not one! cause people don't want to pay that much for a fuel efficient truck
rmc523
I just got done reading an article about how GM and Chrysler are coming out with hybrids for their trucks. Does anyone know if Ford has ANY plans at all for some sort of hybrid or any other way other than the Ecoboost engines to increase FE? Well there's still the Hydraulic Hybrid rumor/speculation. They're supposedly still working on it, trying to balance the FE numbers evenly between city/highway.
rmc523
That sorry ass name ecoboost and F-150 don't seem to go hand-n-hand too me, why not go back to twin-force or something? I think TwinForce should be used for performance models, while EcoBoost should be used in more fuel-conscious situations.
rmc523
a good diesel will outdo a hybrid in a pickup any day. -longer life expectancy -equal or better fuel efficiency -lower cost to repair -greater dependability The 4.4 Lion is coming..... rmc523
Notice the MPG difference between a Ranger and a Silverado Ranger 15/20 Silverado 21/22 Notice the amount of money that's been pumped into the Ranger program recently?
J-150
unless Navistar is involved somewhere.... ooh, ouch. can't argue with that.

Blueblood
The diesel is coming, somebody here said they looked at the HH and canned it due to weight.
Ron W. Give me a truck that doesn't break and will do whats needed, all the F150 needs is a reputation for dependability.

Independent construction contractors also feel the hit with fuel prices. First one to bring a 30mpg pickup to the market will clean up. Although what I added may not be true, depends on the customer, some may be willing to pay more than others.
