You are -completely- gone.

At least GM has a hybrid. What do you think that people are going to associate with fuel economy, twin turbos or the word "hybrid"?

Actually they'll look at three little letters: MPG

How they get there, whether it be hybrid tech or Ecoboost, is irrelavent.

i have not seen (and i am being honest here) one silverado hybrid since they came out a while back......not one!

cause people don't want to pay that much for a fuel efficient truck

I just got done reading an article about how GM and Chrysler are coming out with hybrids for their trucks. Does anyone know if Ford has ANY plans at all for some sort of hybrid or any other way other than the Ecoboost engines to increase FE?

Well there's still the Hydraulic Hybrid rumor/speculation. They're supposedly still working on it, trying to balance the FE numbers evenly between city/highway.

In my opinion people that buy a truck are not looking for mileage. Give me a truck that doesn't break and will do whats needed, all the F150 needs is a reputation for dependability.

I would have to disagree.

Fleet managers care. Which is why they like to order V6s.

Independent construction contractors also feel the hit with fuel prices.

First one to bring a 30mpg pickup to the market will clean up.

First one to bring a reasonably priced 30mpg pickup to the market will clean up.

May I add one thing to your statement?

Although what I added may not be true, depends on the customer, some may be willing to pay more than others.
