It's not DI. Engineers simply didn't have time to get all the goodies on it. Plenty of room for improvement.

 

Well, in a way, that's good to hear, and in a way it's not.

 

It's not good to hear, because obviously, it means the MKS won't launch with the best engines available (although pretty good ones will be standard). But, it is encouraging that there's always the possibility to add more technology to the engine to increase power, fuel economy, etc.
