suv_guy_19
Maybe they could put the Euro front and NA back together
ANTAUS
Well I do prefer the license plate on the truck lid, rather than on the bumper. But as to the reasoning why they need to be styled differently, beats me...
FoMoCobra
Looks like a Yaris from the front.... quite a change from the previous model.
papilgee4evaeva
Hmm... they could do something about the front... I dunno if it's the grille or the lower intake that throws things off... tweak either one somehow and it could be better. The rear is PERFECT though. Michael Reynolds
The front end doesn't look that much different from the euro version.

papilgee4evaeva
The front end doesn't look that much different from the euro version. The foglights and the grille are the main differences. Like suv_guy said, I hope there are grille options.
Michael Reynolds
I guess I don't mind it. It reminds me of the current Mazda 6's grille, only revised. Mmm, AWD, manual and a D37. I swear I'd be all over it ....

ANTAUS
Dont think the 3.5L has be mated to a manual just yet...I mean, eventually it will for the Mustang when the 3.7L is phased into it, but I see the 3.7L Manual also possible work with another RWD products, the F and E-series, but it would look like a 3.5L/3.7L Manual FWD combination to be a hard sell. I think considering whos in control, if we get the 3.5L in the new M6, we should be so lucky....

NickF1011
Something doesn't look quite right with the front. Looks like someone sat on the hood and forced all the mass to bulge out to the sides. Kinda weird. I do like the back though. If that front looks as strange in person though, I think I'm off the market for another Mazda6 to replace mine. As for the manual, hey, they offer one with the V6 now. I don't see why they wouldn't with the D35/D37.
inteller
you know, contrary to popular belief, not every mazda has to resemble the RX-8 from the front. I think they give that car more credit than it is due. I liked the wider stance of the old design. The front of this thing looks like a Nissan Versa. Love the back though. P71_CrownVic
Its okay...I love the extremely Lexus-like integrated exhaust outlets...those look sharp. The front is very ugly, and is it just me, or does the recessed area for the rear license plate look like "the Joker's" mouth?
NickF1011
and is it just me, or does the recessed area for the rear license plate look like "the Joker's" mouth? Yeah, a bit. Basically they are just mimicking the shape of the grille opening on the rear though. It looks cohesive at least.
igor
I have a nagging suspicion that the reason the car is so different is simple - it is a difference car under the skin ... Igor

Igor Shows how close the EUCD and CD3 already are though
igor
Shows how close the EUCD and CD3 already are though not necessarily, Mazda could have chosen to basically design two completely unrelated cars, and make them look almost identical. we will see when the interior is revealed - if it is different - the 2 cars are as similar as Mondeo and Fusion under the skin - if the interiors are the same, Mazda just chose to go with a (slightly) different look for the US market. igor
Could also be related to those silly European pedestrian-compatibility rules. nope - the shape of the nose is the same - and the pedestrian laws have nothing to do with the tail - although Mazda might have redone that one to increase its size, since Europeans do not care much for boot size on sedans - they all buy the liftback and wagon anyways. Ford??-LOL!
It looks nice enough but i prefer the subtle differences in the one shown last year. Pics from last year.
