mustang_sallad
Are we still waiting on a press conference from Ford? Do they have any unveilings this year? I'm surprised I haven't seen any Ford news out of the NY auto show yet.
Edstock
Ford is trying desperately to shape its message and that message boils down to this: “I'm not with stupid.” Amazing.

Edstock
Perceptions are changing. Canadian Driver appears to be one of the major Canuck car sites. It has been an import world, for them, when it comes to sedans. http://www.canadiandriver.com/2009/04/09/u...09.htm?page=all Is their view on buying a Fusion from 2006 to 2009 On the whole, a fair review, with a thoughtful conclusion: In most of my used vehicle reviews, any car or truck I recommend comes with a caveat: this one’s expensive to buy, that one difficult to find and the other utterly unreliable. No need for any of those labels for the Fusion – you will have a very hard time finding a used family sedan to beat this Ford’s combination of low resale values, solid reliability and satisfying performance. It's all about value. Value takes time.

Mark B. Morrow
That was my favorite line in the article. I would love to see a photoshop of Mulally wearing an "I'm Not With Stupid" t-shirt standing next to Wagoner and Nardelli.

jpd80
GM, in its rejected restructuring plan, said GMC is a core brand, along with Buick, Cadillac and Chevy. I'm not so sure. I firmly believe GM needs just two brands in North America – Chevy and Cadillac. The rest merely waste precious and dwindling resources. Provocative comment, I think Chevrolet/Buick/Cadillac - not so sure about GMC value adding. Maybe Obama's team is thinking likewise with GM's restructuring plan? danup
GMC is only a core brand inasmuch as a stand-alone Buick dealer lacks the volume and the prestige to go it alone, and GM is, at the moment, committed to a two-channel restructuring set into motion before they set themselves on fire. blksn8k2
Reading the comments on these websites after articles like this leaves me scratching my head. While the trend seems to be slowly changing in Ford's favor there are still enough annoying comments like "Ford is no different than the other two. I'll never buy another American made vehicle". I guess there are just some people who will never listen. Their parents and/or grandparents were probably saying just the opposite when the foreign brands were trying to move in. The other troubling trend is that a lot of people have this mindset that Ford is two separate companies, one American and the other European when in fact they have been two separate markets that are ever so slowly becoming more similar. When BO's plan ultimately kicks in and gas prices here are the same as in Europe there will be less distinction between markets.
rmc523
I thought this was interesting: He says Land Rover is now using exactly the same design, engineering and manufacturing processes as Jaguar, therefore better quality results are sure to follow.
