BORG
There is a "lost" Taurus SHO ad out there that I can't seem to find. It pits an Audi A6 V8 against a Taurus SHO. You can see it in this video from a Taurus SHO convention.
papilgee4evaeva
I don't know which pronunciation I like better between "show" and "ess aytche oh." So in a few years I'll just focus on the sound of the engine as I go down the highway. :shades:
Mark8LSC CE0464
As a previous SHO owner, I'll go with the latter. Previous for only a few more weeks till my new one shows up!

I very much prefer the latter pronunciation.
MY93SHO
Are they really calling it the "Show" - that sounds stupid if you ask me. I very much prefer the latter pronunciation. Evidently you've never seen the SHOTIME license plate. There has to be one in every state. That's SHO not S.H.O. My mechanic buddy threatened to kick my ass if I put one on my 93! Didn't matter, last time I saw the South Dakota version I think it was on a green second generation SHO. Seriously, pronounce it any way you want, people who care will know what you're talking about. BORG
It doesn't matter, you know you're a true fan if you buy the SHO in Atlantis Green. I'm considering it, although I'm not a SHO fan (yet), and I tend to like my cars black (and with a Lincoln badge)
Extreme4x4
That sounded really good, passing that Audi. Damn !!!! Here it looks like we might be buying a boat, which will put off my SHO purchase. Damn !!!! You know what though............. if we can afford our boat, with our truck payment.............. then we should still be ok in affording the SHO payment, with the boat payment. Ok.............. I'm better now. :D

BrewfanGRB
Hmm. I always pronounced it S H O. I am not against "show", but I am sure I like it yet... But, I can just say the hair is still standing up on on my arms after watching that ad? (Uh oh, evil marketers are winning!) Must start saving more! Sorry Brewers, if you don't get your act together, your part of the Brewfan budget is going to be reallocated to the new show in town. I may've seen one, but given that I'm only 19 and the last SHOs would've been when I was little and didn't know much (period, but also about cars), that would explain it. I'm sure people will know what it means, and if they don't - oh well I guess.

And yeah, I get goosebumps when it clicks it into "M" and stomps the pedal to pass the Audi. The music reminds me of the old 2005 "Built for the road ahead" ads: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...VideoID=2450884 I loved that ad and ads that are done in that style (showing the whole linuep (or even one vehicle) driving around doing different things and stuff). I'm considering it, although I'm not a SHO fan (yet), and I tend to like my cars black (and with a Lincoln badge) The ONLY color I'll buy one in. :happy feet: Of course, it's not so much I've been a historical fan of the SHO... but green is my favorite color and Atlantis Green is very close to my favorite shade. Extreme4x4
Actually, AZ has more surface water, than most states. I bet you didn't know that we have great big mountains, and ski resorts, also. Actually, we are looking at co-owning a boat. This way costs are split, and usage is doubled, making it much more cost effective. Plus, we have a huge lake, just 45 minutes from our house. :D

papilgee4evaeva
Actually, I did know that. But everyone talks about the dryness of Phoenix. BTW, did you know the name of your state came from two Spanish words meaning "dry" and "zone"? (I'm sure you did) The boat sounds cool though... but you know I'm pulling for you to join the SHO ranks. In red.

I agree, Tuxedo Black is not as deep and glassy and I want them to go back to "Just Black".
Michael Reynolds
Am I the only one that is going tiss good old plain Black?...just not sold on this Tuxedo tangent. Yeah, you are the only one. The pollution and sun around here seriously makes it a chore to keep black paint looking it's best. I swear I will NEVER own a black car (unless it's a metallic) for as long as I live. It literally shows everything.
papilgee4evaeva
I do like the Tuxedo Black... it looks good on the Fusion. Ford Motor could be like other companies and offer two shades of black though... I think they still have the paint from their solid black in the warehouse somewhere. Extreme4x4
In red. Funny story. When I was a kid, and lived in the Valley (remember I am in the mountains now), we had 5 100 year floods, in 1 year. So, the media was showing footage of the Salt River flowing at 150,000 cfps, all over the country.............. and showing bridges buckling, and electric towers floating down the river. Anyway, all of my relatives in Canada were calling in a panic. See, all they saw was the river footage............ and since AZ is completely flat, and like the Sahara Desert, they thought the entire state was flowing. They were making sure were weren't in the water. Shoot, the first time my Grandma came to visit us, she was amazed that there was an airport in AZ............. and was expecting the city to look like Tombstone, or something............... with hitching posts, and shootouts in the street. LOL There is still the perception, in many places, that AZ is like the Sahara Desert, with sand dunes, and no vegetation or life................. and that the entire state is like that. I go camping in a mixed conifer forest, at 8500ft, and go trout fishing, for goodness sakes............... and one of my favorite places, is Hannigans Meadow, which is at 10,000 ft. No matter what, I have to pay of the SD before I can buy my SHO. The boat may slow it down a bit.......... thats all. We will be getting together with the other party, to hash out the details, and see if it will work for us, this weekend. See, I want it all................ my SD, my SHO, my boat, and my TT. However, I am realistic............. and cautious. Edited August 8, 2009 by Extreme4x4
rmc523
I forgot to ask this yesterday, but is that really what the SHO sounds like when you stomp the gas pedal? Sounds great in the commercial.

I sure hope it sounds like that IN the car. I know some reviews (maybe in the USA Today, review?) left the reviewer wanting a little more sound in the cabin--Ford did such a good job w/ sound deadening you can't hear the engine in the cabin.
