BORG
??? Why do you say that? I was refering to the Explorer test mule I linked in my original post. But, indeed, the production version is sure to be just as ugly if the Concept is any indication.

RichardJensen
I fail to see how the Explorer mule is anything other than typical mule fare. No part of it strikes me as being remarkably hideous.
RichardJensen
Oh, and BTW Nick, we'll have to all get together and do something for you when you hit 20,000 posts. Like maybe we'll have an intervention.

BORG
Don't you people have jobs? And the Explorer has the same butchered look; complete with patched-in A-pillar gaps and the Frankenstein Flex/Taurus X mash-up.
RichardJensen
You're not that far behind me, buddy. :P We're both in a lot of trouble if a 2,500 post gap qualifies as 'not far behind'.... :P. Just think! If I make 7 more posts per day than you do, I'll be caught up in a year!!!!

rmc523
I liked the concept quite a bit aside from the over-styled grille. I didn't really like the EA's grille at all, I did like the rest, though (well, not the ridiculous interior, but the exterior design). What do you mean look at suv? You mean suv_guy_19? Speaking of him, where's he been? How big is this thing supposed to be in relation to the current Ranger? i expect it to grow but i hope not as much as a Tacoma... I don't know how big it is to be, but I'm guessing it'll be smaller than the Tacoma - how much, I don't know.

Word is there's still quite a bit left to do on T6 yet, it's not due for release in Sth Africa until Q2 2011. Some days are diamonds............. armadamaster
Ugh...aside from all the ugly, I hope that thing isn't as big as it looks in those pics. I think one of the things going for the current Ranger is the fact it is pretty much the only compact sized pickup in a segment of mid - full sized competitors. jpd80
None of those published camo pictures are of the new T6 body. They're all definitly just Mazda BT50 body and T6 chassis mules. None of the photo hounds will get to see the T6 body yet.... :shades:
mike_in_va
Here's some new photos of this truck, along with some interesting narrative about chasing them through the desert. http://www.automotivetraveler.com/index.ph...&Itemid=
BORG
I would really like to start seeing an Explorer prototype running around, it's been along time since the last mule was spotted.

With such a broad base product like the global Ranger, it was tempting to do the truck for everywhere but the parameters and expectations for North American market were just too different to make it work. Sorry guys but I wouldn't hold out hope of this vehicle coming. I would be more than glad to be proven wrong..... Jpd, if the pix were just at some test facility near Dearborn then I'd go along with it just being for standardized testing; but seeing as these test trucks are all over the U.S., makes me believe there're some in our future for sure besides 'OneFord' dictates maximum platform commonality -- no way they'd ignore T6 for the NA market Edited August 27, 2009 by 2b2
