BORG
I had a Taurus with a seized right rear caliper back in college. I was too broke to fix it so I let it grind for about a year. Poor thing, made a rusty mess just like that and permanently ruined the rim because of the iron deposits. lfeg
Driver inattentiveness and calcium chloride strike again!. Odds are that this is a low mileage for the age car. And it is not just a panther thing. Anywhere where they have been using a brine mixture with some CaCl added on the winter roads I have seen the really low quality iron used in todays rotors just flake away in sheets. lfeg
I blame china Havn't seen many chinese rotors. The ones from US and mexican foundries seem to be the worst. It is the composition of the iron - they cheap out on the alloying elements.
stephenhawkings
was that a Katrina car? Working in service f or a time I saw quite few mangled rotors but this one still has pad on it!

SVT_MAN
My 99 Mustang had a seized right-rear caliper, and I drove it for about a 1/4 mile before I realized it because the thing is so darn loud. Needless to say, I had LOTS of brake dust on the wheel when I returned home ...
