How many miles?

91 - Escort Pony, 1.9L, 99,000 - pulled trailer moving around! Awesome first car

96 - Mustang, 4.6L, 15,000

98 - Explorer, 4.0L, 125,000 - wifes/travel truck, still running!

00 - F-150, 5.4, 50,000 - my daily driver, no problems

 

Gotta love fords!!!

2000 Ford Ranger - 139K miles. Replaced ball joints at 90K, replaced tailgate latch at 60K, replaced oil pressure sensor at 120K, replaced thermostat at 60K. Otherwise, only scheduled maintenance (brakes, tires, trans flush, coolant flush, oil changes, etc).

2008 Ford Edge - 37K miles. Only issue was likely dealer related. We had the dealer install heated seats (it came with non-heated leather). About 6 months after that, the back panel of the front passenger seat popped off, I noticed that one of the fitttings looked deformed like it wasn't put on right after being taken off. The dealer replaced it with no problems. Otherwise it has been flawless.

Already posted my current Ford above, but figured I'd post my former Fords.

 

1981 Ford F150 XLT Rcab SB 4.9L 4x4 - Had 300K+ miles when sold in 1994. Only major items replaced were the clutch and driveshaft. Otherwise just your typical alternator, plugs and such items. Was a hand me down from my father when I started driving.

 

1985 Ford Ranger XLT Rcab LB 2.8L 4x4 - Had 170K+ miles prior to being totalled in 1996. Only major replacements were the ignition and distributor cap during the time I owned it. Purchased in 1994 with roughly 100K miles.

 

1999 Ford Ranger XLT Scab SB (Flareside) 4x4 - Purchased brand new in 1/99 and sold in 4/02 with roughly 50K miles. No problems during ownership, except adjustment of the driver door strike plate.

 

1999 Ford Explorer Limited 5.0L AWD - Had roughly 75K miles on it at trade-in. This truck was a POS and there were way too many items replaced to even begin mentioning. Most costly was the Rack & Pinion Steering at roughly $900 installed by my local dealer.

 

2002 Ford F150 Lariat FX4 Scab 5.4L SB (Flareside) 4x4 - Had 55K miles on it (no problems either) prior to an accident in 8/06 which caused $16.5K of damage. Frame, both fenders, passenger door and everything from the radiator forward was replaced (and painted) when the truck only booked for $17K. Got back in 10/06, was back in shop 5 times in 11/06 due to rebuild issues. So cut my loses and traded for the following Ford (current).

 

2006 Ford F150 XLT Screw 5.4L SB (5.5') 4x4 - Purchased new on 12/2/06 with 23 miles (including test drive of 10 miles) and now at just over 27K miles. Truck has had a few minor warranty issues (peeling emblem, window switch, speaker, message center bulb, TSB for tranny), but nothing major.

My Ranger still doesn't burn or leak any oil. I change it on a 5000 mile interval and I always use the same brand of oil, I keep records of oil level. I changed it yesterday (139.9K) and the oil still looked pretty good after 5K miles were on it. Since it isn't burning oil and the oil isn't getting excessively dirty or worn, my engine should still be in pretty good shape inside.

My 03 6.0 stupidduty is around 147k trouble free miles

My bronco is a conglomeration of many broncos and parts, but the new 460 only has a few hundred miles on it, if that :D

Mustangs are a restoration in progress, but the shell had well over 100k on it, and the parts mustang had rolled over 2-3 times.

 

As far as dad's trucks/business trucks go..

 

99 7.3 is nearing 100k

00 7.3 is right around 150k

'01 v10 is ~~60-70k iirc

'02 v10 is less than 50k

 

I know that doesn't match the sig exactly, but I haven't updated it in a while.

Dad- 2001 F-250 Powerstroke XL- 210,000

Sister- 2001 F-150 XLT- 230,000

Mom- 1999 Escort SE- 240,000 (Odometer quit working for about 20K miles, 220K on the odometer)

Me- 1999 Ranger XLT- 198,000 (totalled in November 2008)

We've never had an unreliable Ford.

1994 Mustang V6 - 202,000 miles, on it's second engine, original engine block cracked after the head gaskets went. Trans, rear, and all other major components are original.

 

2004 Ford Freestar - 72,000 miles. Nothing much to say about it. Haven't had any problems (knock on wood).

Hard to say, I bought it with 342,000km's on the odometer but on the window it said TMU. (true milage unknown) It hit 400,000km's then one day I looked and it was at 346,000 or so. WTF? Maybe it was my imagination? Time goes by and I hit 400,000km's and I said "AHA! Now I know for sure it's at 400,000".

Well, over the christmas break I was driving to New Brunswick and...hey look, it's at 389,000?!?!

 

So, I'm guessing between 500,00 and 600,000km's (it's at 391,000km's after this Christmas drive fest)

 

Oh the 2006 freestar is 93,000km's. Replaced the coilpack about two months ago, cracked and caused #2 cyl to misfire.

 

Mustang has had 72,000km's showing on it since I turned it into a full time racecar in '94.

1996 Contour SE (2.5 Duratec, 5 speed): 131k miles. On its 4th water pump. Have also replaced alternator, starter, catalyst and a front wheel bearing. Engine seems basically sound, running Mobil 1. Original clutch.

 

1993 Probe GT, sold at 167k miles, right after replacing the original clutch. It went through a number of rear brake calipers, which would tend to lock when setting the parking brake. Replaced the distributor and thermostat along the way.

My ex-girlfriend's car did exactly that when I was dating her. I can remember her sitting there doing a burnout with the stupid rear wheels locked up. It was pretty funny looking back on it now.

 

I talked to her a few weeks ago - car has over 200,000 on it now. Great car minus that stupid issue.

My ex-girlfriend's car did exactly that when I knew her. We eventually got the rear brakes unstuck.

It always happened on the right side for some reason. The sticking caliper was due to a design flaw, but they never fixed the design, so the replacement calipers had the same problem. I had to drive it like that a couple of times, stopping every mile or so to let the one brake cool. The disc would glow red hot!

 

The Mazda V6 on the GT was a great engine. Its only issues: it was prone to leaky valve cover gaskets, so you'd get a whiff of burnt oil smell, and the valve guides would leak oil into the combustion chambers when it was parked, so you'd get some blue smoke out the tail pipe for a mile or so on a cold start.

1997 F-350 - Powerstroke - 335,000 miles - right now getting worked on - new sway bar bushings, power steering pump, alternator, oil leak

 

Wife's:

2006 Freestyle - 61,000 miles

 

Toys:

1996 Mustang GT - 215,000 miles -runs but engine needs rebuilding.

 

1986 Mustang GT - 135,000 miles - waiting on clutch replacement and a/c work

 

1964 Falcon - a mess - around 61,000 miles.

Tonite, my 1993 F150 turned 182,000 miles. Solid 302 5 speed drivetrain, but lots of other parts replaced.

A brand new Superduty is sitting in the driveway with 100 miles on it. The '93 will be sold in the spring.

 

Our all time record was a 1988 T Bird, 3.8 V6 AOD which went to 205,000 before it was sold. Amazingly, the car required virtually no repairs over all of the years. What a great car it was.

My dad had a 1993 T-Bird with the 3.8L and I think it was the AOD. Anyways, he put 212,000 on it before he got rid of it in 2000, it was still extremely dependable the day he traded it in. In fact, not long before he got rid of it I put 350 miles on it in a two day stretch. The only issues that car ever had were with the seat belt hangers that moved when the door was opened/closed. Otherwise, it was an extremely reliable car.

2004 Excursion 4x4 V10 Limited 110K miles (bought used at 60K miles) Not one single problem yet Other than the fact that it is a magnet for dumb asses to run in to Truck has been hit 4 times since owning going in to body shop again next week.

1992 Grand Marquis 670K miles When Parked in Dec 07 due to excessive structural Under body rust. Only major failure was the tranny at 620K Vehicle has been sold to a buddy who is going to Rebuild the engine and use for transplanting in to a late 60's Galaxie rag top since it is the uncommon 4.6/AOD Equipped car. She will be gone this Saturday

1986 Sable 3.0L sold at 330k Miles struts and bearing plates replaced 5 times tranny was on it's way out when scrapped

1988 Mustang 2.3L 80K miles when youngest son wrote it off.

1986 F150 300 I6 60K miles when written of due to deer strike.

1985 Grand marquis 351W 410K miles when sold No issues at all during life span Car was sold to wifes cousin who put on another 110K before he sold it.

1985 Mekur 2.3L Turbo 110K miles when sold Was a trouble prone vehicle. (electrical)

1983 LTD (Fox chassis Car) 2.3L Factory propane scrapped at 160K in 93 due to rust (still have engine and propane system in Garage)

1980 LTD Wagon 351W 120k Miles when sold.

1979 LTD 2 door 500K miles when traded in on the Mekur

1978 T bird Sport 400CID 40K miles when when tradedd in on the 80 wagon (still miss that car)

1978 F100 300 I6 200K when sold was a freebe from a friend in 1991. Was given/sold to youngest son. The 3 Speed on the tree and no P/S or P/B sure slowed him down lol.

1968 Galaxie XL Rag top 428CID 85K miles when sold bought used in 1993 with 60K

1968 Fairlane 2dr 302cid First vehicle bought used traded in on the 74 T bird with 60K miles.
