1996 Ranger, 4.0L 2wd automatic - 199,000

Only repair that wasn't caused by abuse or mods was the thermostat which went bad at around 195,000. The transmission has the 2-3 flare but with a little throttle control it is not an issue for me.

2007 Five Hundred, 3.0L Duratech, fwd SEL. Purchased about 10 months ago (replaced a POS 2001 Malibu). Now just rolled over 46,000 with no problems.

I do all the maintenance on both vehicles.

1972 Capri XL 33,215 X-Flow

1972 Escort XL 144,116

Can't thank Ford enough for producing two absolutely superb cars, spent far two much money on them with to many things to mention, but both Fords have nether let me down once, although they both had a few teething problems to sort out when l first brought them.

X-Flows, Twin Cams & BDA were the most

ever made on God's earth, the X-Flow was sooooooooooh
and more durable, reliable & better than anything fitted in a Porsche 911 or Rolls Royce in their day.

Would sell my Escort that l have owned since 1981 for a new RWD RHD Mustang if Ford ever sold them through Ford UK (wasted to much money on Apple i-phone & i-pod touch presents for the family this Xmas its about the only exciting thing round at the moment). , l find most modern fridge/aplliances boring bland cars utterly repulsive. It's not hard to see why Detroit car producing capital of the world has gone from Motown to GhostTown, GM used to employ 616,000 Americans Stateside in 1979 its been very sad to watch the decline happen over the years, GM need to stop emulating Toyota and be American again and produce American styled cars that rock again.

Watched a programe on RT "Detroit city of death" over Xmas which painted a very sad picture of Motor City but hope of a recovery in the future(New big 3 boom in Detroit, is the big 3 Casinos) but it was a very sad video to watch.

1967 Mustang 289 V8 - 117,000 known miles. I have driven it daily for that last 3 years and have rolled the odometer over once myself. It still has the original engine and transmission. I'm patiently waiting for the engine to need to be rebuilt so I can give it a bit more HP but it just keeps running flawlessly day after day.

2006 Explorer 4.6 V8 - 55,000. The only issue was the transmission programming. Since that has been figured out it has run flawlessly. Besides my mustang I like this better than any other car I've had including Toyota's, Nissan's and Honda's.

I update my signature to reflect my mileage. My '07 Fusion will be 3 years old in late Feb. 2010 - should have around 80k or so at that point (picked up with 7 miles).

My previous Ford's and their respective mileage when sold are listed below - they were all bought used.
