SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Toyota Motor Sales on Wednesday said it is recalling about 50,000 early-2003 Model-Year Toyota Sequoia sport utility vehicles to upgrade the vehicle stability control (VSC) system. The VSC system helps control a loss of traction during turns and in vehicles without the upgrade, the VSC system could, in some situations, activate at low speed and, as a result, the vehicle may not accelerate as quickly as expected. So far, there have been no reported injuries related to this problem.

Looking for patterns, this seems to be of a piece with the sudden acceleration problem and the other VSC problem, in that all three cases suggest that Toyota doesn't anticipate edge conditions in their electronics--the 'hillbilly with a stick' test ifeg referred to.

One thing I've learned from software development...no matter how idiot-proof you make it, the world is always producing better idiots!

This is just more Toyota bashing! The problem is old people mistaking the brake for the accelerator. I mean, come on, this happens to every manufacturer, Toyota's just being singled out by the media and the government is conducting a witch hunt.

Did I miss anything?
