VaporEdge
I ordered a 2013 SEL Escape on June 16th......still no VIN. How long is it taking most to get a VIN and to get the vehicle to the dealership?
LSchicago
My wife ordered a 2013 Titanium on 6/13 it was built 6/25, and at the dealer on 7/16. We are going to get it this evening!
transitman
cyberman reported yesterday mine is in Bensenville, IL on its way to Minneapolis with an arrival date of 7/22. I'm hoping it arrives late this week so I can pick it up on Saturday. My salesman said it scheduled to arrive the week of the 23rd. Ordered 2/25, built 7/9 delivered 7/22, 15 days from factory to destination. Edited July 18, 2012 by transitman

VaporEdge
Glad to know some folks are having good luck! I will just be happy to finally get a VIN. No clue as to why it is taking so long. The dealer has their Ford Rep working on it.
tallclone
I'm in the waiting phase of my 2013 Escape purchase as well. I ordered mine on July 7th and I'm waiting to hear from my salesman that it's been scheduled for production. He told me that they normally tell people it will be 4 to 6 weeks for an ordered car but that it's been running 6 to 8 weeks for new Escapes. I test drove a Tuxedo Black SEL 2.0L model that they had on hand and then they sold it to the next person that looked at it. It kind of appears that the ramp up in production for the 2013 Escape will be a replay of the very slow 2012 Focus launch.
boppergee
I orderd mine on 6-12, got a vin on 7-2, scheduled build date of 7-23, with an ETA 8-6. We'll see if that really happens.
VaporEdge
I was told today that the Escapes have been put on hold until the recall gets fixed. They aren't even letting people test drive them either because of the recall. Hope that get everything fixed soon.
JoeIndy
Ordered 6/15, Got my VIN on 7/13, build date is today (7/18). Delivery is scheduled for 7/23. EDIT: I took delivery on 7/24. Tuxedo Black Titanium, so 2.0l obviously. Everything but the tow package. It's beautiful! Edited August 4, 2012 by JoeIndy
ladybird4
Ordered my Wifes Titanium on 6/15. We picked up the car on 7/17. We had the vin within a week of placing the order. Would have come in sooner but plant was closed July 4th week. Everything has to do with the allocation the dealer has available. Ford dealer can track the order within a week from placing the order. Orders are updated on thursday evening. I do work for the dealer and was able to track my order from start until it said it was at the dealer. If they can not give you the info its because they have to wait to they have allocation before the car will be made. Most times this is a problem if the dealer is not a high volume dealer. bmc
My 2013 Titanium on order was just built July 12. I am still waiting to hear from the dealer when it is set to arrive. The model and features I chose happen to be exactly the same as an order the dealer had already put to Ford! I hope hope to take delivery sometime end of the month....fingers crossed! VaporEdge
Transitman......Thanks for the info. Just my luck, I knew I should have ordered the 2.0. Guess I should consider that a little good news if it means mine was built before July 11? I have never received a VIN.
rscalzo
Based on the article in today's paper, delivery will again be delayed as all 1.6 liter engines have been recalled for a leaking fuel line recall. They stated all owners should stop driver vehicles already delivered. Edited July 20, 2012 by rscalzo
rk2112
I wonder since it is only the 1.6 that has an issue if Ford will increase production on the 2.5 & 2.0 models until they have the problem resolved?
itherrkr
Ours was ordered on June 18 and according to the dealer it is supposed to be on the lot by August 7. So, roughly 7 weeks.
tallclone
I just found my Escape listed on my local dealers website!! I ordered it on 7/7 and the blend date on the window sticker is 7/31. So hopefully it will show up by the end of August. Funny but it's not shown to be in the dealers inventory on Ford.com.
zeeman84
My wife's car has been sitting at L.A.P. since the 5th of June. In talking with a Ford Cust. Service Rep., the car is okay to ship, but is sitting with hundreds of other Escapes that were held for repair. Now they have a big mess in trying to ship out all the held Escapes plus all of the Escapes the plant keeps producing. Figuring on another two months before we see it. tallclone
Zeeman84- Sorry to hear that you've been waiting so long! I'm wondering if part of the shipping delay for your car might be due to Escapes for Wisconsin dealers being shipped by rail? The Escapes that are going to Northern Iowa dealers are shipped by rail but those here in Central Iowa are shipped by truck. I've read that they are having problems with getting enough auto carrier freight cars to Lexington. It's kind like the local railroad forgot about LAP shipping cars out since they were closed for over an year setting up to build Escapes. It appears that my Escape ordered on 7/7 was built yesterday. My local dealer also has two other Escapes on order that were built on 8/1 so I'm hoping that they will all come on the same truck at some point this month. I used to see trucks full of new Escapes all of the time going north on I-35 when they were built in Kansas City.
pillboy
Received our VIN, build date and estimated delivery date from the dealer today. Sat with the salesman on July 16th and the estimated delivery date is August 20th. Either no one is buying them or they got their $h!t together or they are screwing them fast and sloppy...guess we'll find out.
bkell
Ordered mine on July 18th and got an August 20th ETA as well. I thought for sure my dealer was being overly optimistic. Perhaps not.

We have heard so many reasons why this car has not shipped in the past two months that we are not sure what to believe. The Ford Rep., told us he would put it in for expedited shipping and put it on the hot list. The owner of the dealership we purchased from told us that the shippers normally do not pay any attention to that. They ship it when they are ready to ship it. No ETA on it from Ford. Hopefully I am being overly pessimistic on when we will see it.
rk2112
I ordered mine on 6/28. It is suppose to be built 8/10 (I was able to download the window sticker today. It does show a build date of 8/10). The dealer said they have a ETA for the week of 8/20.....I will be anxious to see if it hits theses dates.
