Jamers
Typically FORD does a refresh every 3 years. With the last major redesign of the Explorer in the 2011 model year, can we expect the 2014 model will at least have a refresh? Not that I think it needs it but there is always room for improvement. Here's what I'd like to see. Center Console option for Sport model when ordering 2nd row captains chairs HID headlamps option Make the Fog Lamps HID as well Bring back Bordeaux Reserve Red (it was only offered in the 2011 model) Offer the 3.5L Ecoboost as and option on the AWD Limited Auto-Power folding mirrors when you turn the car off. (It's manually controlled by a button now on my 2011) Add power charging options in the 3rd seating area Reduce the size of the ginormous 3rd row head rests
alpha1847
I would add a few more.... 1. The newer, Ti-VCT version of the 3.5 Ecoboost (this is used on the F-150, but the older, intake-only VCT versions are used everywhere else) 2. Adding the remaining features (other than HIDs) that you can get on the limited but not the sport - power folder rear seats and heated steering wheel 3. Multi-contour seats - why this is offered on the Taurus but not the Explorer baffles me. 4. 8-speed auto (maybe just on the lower-volume Sport for starters) 5. The ability to use your sync app for remote starting 6. Both exterior mirrors should be electrochromic and have auto-reverse tilt-down

Love this color! Almost every expolorer I've owned since 1991 has been similar to this (Maroon) color. It's awsome in the sun. Looking at the 2013's and can't decide. The headrest size in the 3rd row seats do need to be reduced. They just block too much of the view from the rear view mirror out the rear window. I like to know who's coming up from behind. I had a trooper behind me and he wasn't so easy to make out because of the diminished view.
rgk
I would like to see a 3rd seat delete option and perforated leather available in the XLT line.
theoldwizard
The 3rd seat is a joke. Make it optional. What they really need to do is put the Explorer on a serious "diet" ! Cut a couple hundreds pounds and it would help fuel economy.
tofer
having the option to have one without the 3rd row is a great idea. On my 2006 i ordered mine to get one without the 3rd as I have zero need for one or pay the MPG's for one either.
rgk
I appears none of this will happen, as I see that 2014 orders are now being accepted, first build in June. Order guide should appear soon. http://www.bblfleet.com/fleetdocs/ford_buildout.pdf
Fuze
Still no 2014 order guide available?
ice-capades
No, the 2014 Explorer Order Guide has not yet been released but I'd expect only minor changes including a couple of new paint choices. Access to the FMCDealer communications portal has been down most of the day, I'm out of the office and don't have a copy of the model changeover schedule with me that would tell when the 2014 Explorer USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) is scheduled to open. We met with our Ford representative today which included the "balance out" allocation for the 2013 Explorer which covers April and May production. If I remember correctly, the 2014 Explorer Job #1 date may be in June but I'll check tomorrow and try to remember to post updated information. Fuze
What's showing online is a 2014 Production Start Up date of 6/3/13 and an order acceptance date of 2/25/

jasonj80
Looks like the only big change is heated seats added to the second row of Limited, and Adaptive Cruise becomes a stand alone option not in 302A.HID/Lane Keep/Heated Wheel/Heated 2nd row/Powerfold 3rd row still not available on the Sport. mashford
Expecting to take possession of a 2013 Explorer Sport next week. Excited about the truck, disappointed with the lack of HID and power fold 3rd seat.

marioski
I would like to see a 3rd seat delete option and perforated leather available in the XLT line. Now this would be great! I would easily get rid of the third row seats as I don't have any use for them in my limited. So I guess they are going to stay folded all the time. Two more weeks before I take delivery!
marioski
I would like to see just an HID option rather then it being clustered with a group. I believe right now for the limiteds it's package 302A. Well I don't necessarily want all that extra's that package includes but would just add the HID's. Guess it'll be time to look for some aftermarket HID options when the truck comes in..

rscalzo
I would easily get rid of the third row seats as I don't have any use for them in my limited. One of the reasons I went witgh the Escape instead of the Ex in 08 and 10. same reason I'm looking at the Jeep Grabnd Ch.

It doesn't bother me I usually install halos or an LED strip to boot while I have them installed (although I know how to i seldom have the time to do it myself) Will be right there with you.
