MAP C-crew getting canned?

The MKS provided many jobs at Chicago, once it's gone there will be a lot of employees being displaced. I really think the end of the C-crew in Chicago is near. 3 shifts is terrible for Quality! Not worth it, Plus people don't come to work!

Ok....CAP... let`s step back from the cliff....

MKS (385) is in a launch process for the 2016 MY.

Taurus (258) is in a launch process for the 2016 MY.

Explorer (502) is in the MP1 phase of the 2016 MY launch.

CAP will be moving to the MP2 phase in the very near future (weeks) which will put Job 1 sometime in the last part of May or first part of June. The 258 and 385 will start the PP build phase of the 2016 MY after the "one" whole week of down time in July. (ever stop and think about why only "one" week)

Now with that said, I...me...no one else.... wish that dam 385 was gone!!! what a pain in the ass to build!!!!

People there is another underlying factor to all this hysteria.... no one wants to listen when told about or stop and think about the one major reason for the loss of or the reduced production of a product and that is "volume".

Here at CAP, (I have no idea about any other plant) we will see the increase in volume in the 502 product because and only because "SALES". I have told everyone that asks and tried to explain about the volume increase for a while now. We are in the process of another "volume" increase and will see another after the 502 goes into the 2016 MY. It`s like this.... plug in more 502`s to a line that is already full of 502`s - 258`s and 385`s and you`ll reach a point where? Yep you`ll run out of space to plug in units. CAP is at the full plug in level. So... they have to unplug something (385) to plug in 502`s. Did anyone see gap`s in the line when we completely stopped building the 385`s a few months ago? No? Plug in`s and more Plug in`s or in a term most don`t think of or know about "scheduling"... (remember the sheep drama about losing the MKS then? yep sheep turds everywhere)

Here at CAP we have way more work that can be completed both humanly or by these outdated run down machines. Yes PERIOD. WE have all three model`s for the 2016 MY (yes the dam 385 too) sooooo if the sales keep the "volume" where its at and where the projections have it.... How the hell are we going to lose any bodies???

Thinking has to be done, the exchange of good information has to be done, which I have first hand tried to do but then comes the hysteria or as I like to call it the "sheep" syndrome...or "sheep drama" factor. (being lied to or loving to tell all those little lies)

In defense of my union rep`s, I have watched and listened to Rep`s tell their members this same info and what happens? "sheep drama".....

Again, I have no true idea of whats going on at MAP but, if it`s anything like the sheep drama at CAP it will just have to run its course.

Nobody has been properly informed of this whole situation from day 1. When this massive rumor first came out, most heard it second hand and not directly through the union, you had people calling and or texting other people to let them know of the rumors they have heard. It would have been nice for the union to come out directly and say something. They very well could have done a mass text or robo call to let everyone know, did they do that NO. For those that did contact their committee man they were told that they would have more info on what's going on that Friday when they return to work which was false because the union knew nothing more on that Friday then they did when news of this first broke. Then you had union reps saying that the company had until this past Monday to come out with a letter which would make it official. If no official letter was presented then it wasn't going to happen. Monday comes and passes THEN its announced by the union that no its Monday when the company has to officially announce it its NOW Wednesday or Thursday that they have. You can't get a straight answer from the union on this whole thing, no the company has until this date to announce it, that day passes, no now they have until This date to officially announce it. WTF!! Then they come out with these other plants that will be needing people and you talk to people from these other plants and they tell you that they DON'T need anyone. Then last night (Monday) our committee men aren't even there they have subs filling in for them, don't you think they should be there to keep everyone informed. I don't care what prior union business they were all committed too, that could have been cancelled, I've hardly seen any union reps since this rumor started.

Where are you getting your information regarding the 2016 Taurus and MKS? and what do you mean by "Launch Process." Are you saying CAP has Launch Teams training right now for these Launches?

Its no big secret, been a member of the launch team since before it was called a team and before there were PSG`s. (Process Strategy Group members... not Product Specialist Guys)

Here are some things that will happen in or around the first part of July 2015.

Final will start MP2 build on the 2016 502 platinum option.

385 & 258 units will start 2016 TT build in Body & Paint

Luanch Process,

MRD, TT, PP, MP1, MP2 and the always happy time of the launch process Okeedoekee2B... Oh and that supper dupper secret shit that goes on at the ( please lower your heads) Holy PILOT PLANT....

Now the launch process has been pushed back a week or so (for no other reason than ahhh yes, great planning) but.... CAP has three models being produced on the D platform for 2016.

Besides I have a herd of pigs (no reference to any of my relatives in law enforcement) just waiting for police colors that will spit at not only 2016 502`s but yep...2016 258`s. As for those civilian 2016 258`s we gotts some big old systems waiting to spit some 2016 colors at them too. Not to mention those pesky 2016 385`s that have their very own tanks waiting with their 2016 colors....

Paint has no real changes, so there won`t be any "launch training".

In this business you have to look at the future and hope they guess right on the products. Sales are the only thing that can decide what we actually do or work on.

Rumors don`t pay the bills and really "rumor" is a way of saying "stupid shit" in a politiclly correct way..... I think.

According to most google news stories the 2016 MKS and 2016 Taurus production is moving to Flat Rock Assembly Plant.

That says probably and confirms nothing. The downtime is for changes involving the GT350 and GT350R mustangs.

Think about it for a minute, why would it make any sense to retool a plant for a new platform (D3 for Taurus/MKS) for 1 year, just to switch it back over to a platform you already run in the Fusion (CD4) when the continental comes as a 2017 model. Yes Continental is a 2017 model, not 2016.

Only one way to find out the real truth on all of this, "ASK JEEVES"!!! LOL!!

Flat Rock is building the 2017 Continental, the last year of the MKS's will be built at CAP. There has been no word on the Taurus coming to Flat Rock, the launch teams and unit trainers have not seen the new model yet, so no plans to build it so far.

The downtime is for both the new Shelby's and for the new Continental. We may also have to retool for capability of building all wheel drive platforms.

So still no word on how the uaw are going to "benefit" their members on this one. Or are they just leaving us blind again.

What are you referring to? This post has changed topics that's why I ask. They always seem to leave us in the blind on what they do... Seems the norm, but always claim their the best local around..

The 2016 Lincoln MKS and 2016 Ford Taurus will be on the D4 Platform, not D3.

I'm more mad at the company for dropping a bomb like this and not having any sort of additional info to pass along

I don't want to sound like an apologist but I really believe that if they know what the plan is, we would be told something

You obliviously have not worked for Ford very long!

You are just a number to them, if your product is selling they will give you employment, if not they lay you off and then if there are openings they will fill the spots with you, if no openings, they don't care what happens to you and now that Sub pay is limited they could care less what happens to you, Welcome to the world of the Auto Industry.

When it's good, it's good, but when it's bad, it's bad! This is a business where your job depends on people buying what you build, the focus is not a hot product which puts you in the situation you are in, and whatever plans Ford has your not in a high enough position to know them, you actually think they going to reveal plans to you! They don't even want to call line time til the latest moment possible, so good luck with getting them to reveal any plans to you.

What puzzles me is with all the downtime MAP has had you guys act like cutting C-Crew is a surprise, oh well some people can't see the writing on the wall.
