fuzzymoomoo
There was no L models for the MKT or MKS I hope the Conti rear seat has more legroom then the MKT does. I got a ride to the airport one time in one and they had the passenger seat all the way to the front reclined forward! As much shit as I talk about the Panther Platform...it was nice to driven around in one. I haven't had a chance to sit in one on account of the 30 engineers always hovering around, but the back seat definitely looks bigger than the MKT. I have been in the backseat of that one and I agree, it does leave something to be desired for a vehicle of its size.

That's one of our favorite features of the Flex...it's easy for the kids to walk through and get to the back seat.
rmc523
I thought they did have a footrest. Was that just for the Chinese market? I didn't realize the Chinese market has one. I wonder why ours doesn't?

Hugh
I didn't realize the Chinese market has one. I wonder why ours doesn't? Not to sound insensitive and I tread lightly here, perhaps the foot rest is not big enough for NA?
akirby
In China, the Continental will try to appeal to a new breed of wealthy back-seat drivers. Buyers of high-end vehicles in that country typically do not drive themselves. The rear seating area, often an afterthought in American and European car design, is essential in the Chinese car market. “A Mercedes-Benz S class sold in the U.S. and Europe focuses on the driver,” said Stephanie Brinley, an analyst at IHS Automotive. “In China the focus is on the rear-seat passengers in terms of everything from space to amenities.” The Lincoln's back-seat amenities will include a laptop table that motors itself into position, electric sockets to power a laptop and other devices, and a champagne cooler in the center console. The ceiling, pillars and upper reaches are lined with a silky-smooth satin. The rear seats are covered with high-grade leather and are adjustable 30 ways. There's shearling wool carpeting the floor. The rear seat reclines deeply but does not lie flat. Designers dropped that idea after realizing it would have placed the passenger's head in the trunk. “This is not a vehicle we developed for the U.S. and then said, ‘We will see how it does in China,'” said Raj Nair, Ford's group vice president and chief technical officer for global product development. “The rear seat was designed for the Chinese customer first and foremost.” http://www.latimes.com/business/autos/la-fi-hy-lincoln-continental-ny-auto-show-20150326-story.html

The MKT just had some different interior trim features that weren't all that different from the SHO. FFS the Flex I felt had more done to it then the MKT. silvrsvt
Anyone know what they are talking about when it comes to Smart Charging USB ports? Do they have power to them after you shut the car off, like the power points aka cigarette lighter port?
akirby
It supports the different charging requirements of different mfrs (apple, samsung, etc.) and different devices - so it doesn't provide more power than the device can handle.
