Did the Rock accidentally leak a new bullitt Mustang?

Recommended Posts

I had to chuckle a little while reading some of the comments. At least the chase scene in Bullitt was a little more realistic than anything in the Fast and Foolish series. So what if the same Beetle showed up in multiple scenes? And nobody even mentioned the mannequin in the burning Charger at the end of the chase. Geez.

Or that the Charger lost around 6 hubcaps.

There is also that official photo released by Ford on the reveal of the 2018 Mustang, which shows the interior of the car while the car is parked in a driveway. On the left corner of the photo you can partly see a silver Mustang with a black sidestripe that looks like a Boss-Stripe. I haven't seen that being discussed anywhere yet. Do You think that was an intentional spoiler ("easter egg") by Ford for a planned Boss Mustang based on the S550?

I love the movie Bulitt but I've studied the chase scene pretty close and the reason that the Beetle keeps showing up is because that's really only one scene taken from multiple camera angles. There are are probably only 3 city scenes that are taken from multiple angles including in-car angles and that's what makes up the entire city chase scene. I'm not hating here, like I said I love that movie and the chase scene too.

My brother-in-law owned a Highland Green '67 fastback with the 390 and 4-speed from 1968 to 1972. He was in the military in 1968 and stationed in Germany. He bought the car over there from a fellow serviceman. When the movie came out he went to see it in Berlin and parked the car in front of the theater. After the movie a crowd gathered around the car thinking it was the car from the movie.

I got to ride in it several times after he brought it home. I was just a kid at the time and the torque from that 390 impressed the heck out of me. That car is one of the reasons I am a Ford guy.
