But again, coming back to compromise, it feels like all of these super affordable sports coupes on the market have major compromises. In the case of this, and the Miata, they're super small, they go too far there. The gr86 also has quite a few significant reliability issues, so that's kinda a turn off. I just feel like an EV coupe that is in between the gr86 and s650 in terms of size, and that's actually super reliable and economical to run long term because EVs just don't break that much relative to ICE, well that's a more compelling package imo.

I know I know but it makes the most sense from a platform sharing perspective. Or maybe they should remodel and move Explorer and Aviator to Flat Rock and close Chicago. (Sorry Decker).

But that’s just it - you either have 2 seaters with 4 cylinder engines or 4 seaters with v8 capability. Engine not an issue for an EV but I think something in between would compromise interior room. But I just can't see CAP being rewarded with any kind of new product. Of course, the UAW will think differently. HRG

Yeah it's not some stub nosed hatchback, but the roofline is slightly more upright than the s650's fastback, which would offer more headroom in theory. Added bonus, stylistically, something like this looks more like a modern interpretation of a mustang notchback. Plus if it's a skateboard platform, you'd have decent frunk space with a hood this long. Sure, it's no suv in terms of practicality, but it would be easier to live with than these super small gas powered sports cars.

But with the coupe market being limited, I don't know that adding extra coupes is a recipe for success...
