Anthony
Defintely a step up (style-wise) from the 4th gen F-bodies.

NickF1011
I like this a LOT more than the Challenger...I mean night and day a lot more!!! Now let's see if they can actually build it.
RichardJensen
I think it has the greenhouse and "hips" that Dodge wanted for the Charger. Aside from that, it--like the Challenger--does not look like a vehicle that will appeal to many female buyers. But then how could we really recreate the old pony-car era, without the GM and Mopar entries being overmuscled and too aggressive? ... Paul Selby
I couldn't get the video. Looks VERY good to me and I'm not a big Chevy fan. The greehouse looks kind of low, like the 300/Charger. I like the modern look with retro cues. Love the hood. Did they say anything in the video about weight, engine options and solid or IRS? Hope they don't screw it up with a shit interior. I like it, but personally like the challenger look better. the quarters sticking out gives a nice look, the profile looks great, but I think it woulda looked a lot better with some early camaro inspired flat nose/recessed grill. The pics I saw a while back from ls1.com showed they finally took the cat out of the passenger footwell...why they built 2 generations that way is still hard to figure... Shouldnt hurt ford at all unless they base it pricewise like the mustang- and I would hope they do, but doubt they will. Rumor is the challenger will be 35-40, again not a threat to the mustang. I would love to see ponycar wars rekindled- remember how passionate people used to be about their make? Get people EXCITED about visting the dealers and price cars where a working guy can afford one, maybe the industry can take off again...Also- really hope camaro/challenger stay US built- and a lot more too. time will tell. Anyone ot there worry about hyundai or a chinese firm tooling up a american classic? I hope not, but almost expect it...look how machine tools were copied by them and sold at a fraction of what the originals were...cant be long till they try the same with a car. 96 Pony
It's not going to hurt Mustangs sales that much because they still haven't learned from their mistakes with the old F bodies. One again it looks like a poor man's Corvette. <_< It may cut into the Shelby sales a little based on the die hard F body crowd who would rather drive a Yugo than a Mustang but that is about it. BORG
The Challenger and Camaro concepts look very similar, but the Camaro looks less retro crazed. Overall, neither work as well as the Mustang concept since they try way too hard to evoke the cues of the original and end up making for interesting design execises but not very appealing production cars. The Mustang looks like a far more sophisticated melding of modern and classic design. But overall, the Camaro concept looks quite good. I don't care for the Challenger at all. ebritt
Is it a 67/68 or 69? The grille is a 69 but the wheel openings and rear quarters are 67/68. Very cool, but the grille seems a little to exagerated. Square it off in front and put the body line from the top of the wheel openings and you got a hit. CurtisH
They need to tone down the front end some. Otherwise, I think it looks pretty good. Edited January 9, 2006 by CurtisH
630land
Well, when will it come out? Some F body fans are mad since it isn't a continuation of the 1993-02 car, but then where were they when sales were needed? It is certainly better to see this and the Challenger, then a Honda Civic Si clone or a trendy looking Probe/Reatta/FWDCougar...
Hemiman
They need to tone down the front end some. Otherwise, I think it looks pretty good. Ding!! You got that right. I hope they do make some minor changes and produce this car.
tim kakouris
build it! that car is kick ass and has "american style"....whatever that is. if gm can infuse some of that emotion into it's everyday cars, they may have a bright future. i have never been a big gm fan, but i for one really, really want them to become successful again...not at ford's expense, but at the rest of the car markets expense!! llog215
They need to tone down the front end some. Otherwise, I think it looks pretty good. Couldn't agree more. Looks really sharp and agressive and definitely way better than the Challenger concept. I don't think it would put too much of a dent in Mustang sales. This (and the Challenger) seem more polarizing than the Mustang, which has wider appeal.
NHstang
I'm sure it'll be nice. Looks like it took a lot of styling cues from the late 60's. Oh yeah, didn't Ford do something like that about 3 years ago? Late to the dinner table again, GM. And I'm sure the Mustang will kick it's a** in sales like it always has. Way better than thoose leaked clay model concepts. Anyone know if this is a working prototype btw or just a concept?
sunroofcuda
Leave it to GM to create something radically different than what Ford (& Dodge - Challenger) has proven success with - GOING RETRO ON AN OLD MUSCLECAR! GM stylists just had to try & "one-up" all the competitors with something frigging RADICAL-looking, that has absolutely NO ties with the Camaro nameplate whatsoever. My point is, if they would have maintained course on the formula of success that Ford is seeing with the restyled "retro" Mustang, & Dodge is about to see with the Challenger, they could have also seen a huge success. But NOPE, they had to get the styling team that no doubt created the Avalanche & Asstec involved - just to get it all wrong AGAIN! Now I don't want to sound totally negative here - the car does look cool, but it will be a niche vehicle at best. But, if GM's goal was to ride on the success of the Mustang re-style, & Dodge's about-to, they needed to stick to the '69 Camaro architecture. That is if they wanted to sell a boatload of them. This kind of behavoir is typical of GM IMO.
JLaudioF150
I think it's awesome! If Ford doesn't offer big engines to match...Mustang will become what it was during the mid 90s (when compared to the 350ci Camaro)...a 'chick car'. Put the guns down fellas...I'm just giving you my opinion. Maybe the Camaro won't steal all the sales from Mustang, but, combined with the Challenger, will no doubt make a significant dent. I'm curious about a Pontiac version... B) Also, I bet that thing will look awesome with T-tops!

If Ford doesn't offer big engines to match...Mustang will become what it was during the mid 90s (when compared to the 350ci Camaro)...a 'chick car'. You know, I get totally different impressions of the kind of women that would prefer the Mustang vs. the kind of women that preferred the Camaro. The kind of women that I can clearly imagine wanting one of them old F-bodies, would never be able to afford one new. I mean the V6 Mustang is the official car of the "girl next door". The Camaro is the official car of Roller Derby Queens I was worried that the new '05 was too aggressive, but having seen the Challenger and Camaro, I think Ford got it just about right. Long live the "chick car" Mustang! Those insurable girls keep the Mustang alive. ...

RichardJensen
 What the hell?! There's this wonderful term in economics called "effective demand". It's not a measure of demand for your product, it's a measure of demand among those that can afford it. The Camaro (like the Toyota Celica and Supra) were quite popular with people that by and large could not afford both the insurance and the payments. It's a fact that the Mustang historically sold to a far higher percentage of women than the GM pony-cars; furthermore, that higher percentage of women broadened the customer base of the Mustang. While it's true that it's "chick-car" nature did put off some potential buyers, it's also true that the "chick-car" Mustang drew in more buyers than it alienated. ...
