Going by how the ICE lineup was, I'd assume that the Mythic EV CUV would be in the 180-190" Length range aka Compact CUV like the Escape was, but that is going without knowing what the actual dimensions of the UEV is. A true subcompact CUV would be in the sub 180 range like the Bronco Sport. As far as I know the UEV would need another 2 inches or so of width to make it a true midsized vehicle, like how the Edge was about 2 inches wider in width vs the Escape or other C based products. Adding length (for the most part) doesn't make a midsized product. I was looking at the C2 Chinese lineup and with width varies from 73.2 inches on the Lincoln Z to 77 on the Edge and 76.9 on the Nautilus, so I guess Ford can make platforms wider if they need to, but I'd expect the Fathom to birth a true C Long and maybe a C short CUV down the road, vs moving up to a midsized product. -
Well......for one, Ford has referred to Fathom is a "midsize"......but either way it's a compact truck to me.... He's saying they're doing: he's saying truck, and two crossovers - compact and midsize. Don't know if the "Mythic" (Fathom twin) is considered the midsize or compact....

How Ford’s ‘Obsession With Details’ Aims to Fix Years of Reliability Struggles - Autoblog Under Chief Executive Officer Jim Farley, the company has begun shifting away from short-term fixes toward systematic process changes. Recent third-party evaluation reports show early indications of progress, with Ford making measurable strides toward top quality metrics in several vehicle segments. However, executive leadership emphasizes that fully rectifying institutional quality gaps will require sustained discipline across multiple product cycles. Speaking at the recent 2026 Automotive News Conference, Farley explained that execution now hinges on a “complete obsession with details” across every phase of design and production. He stressed that earlier quality breakdowns often stemmed from rushed launch schedules or overlooked minor component variations during assembly. The revised mandate requires engineering teams to resolve potential failure points long before assembly lines begin rolling. Central to this operational reset is a heavy investment in pre-production testing and real-time monitoring. By prioritizing catching defects early in the manufacturing cycle, factory teams can halt production to address component tolerances before vehicles leave the plant. This proactive approach aims to reduce costly post-sale warranty claims while establishing clearer accountability among tier-one suppliers.

Ford Poaches 30-Year GM Veteran To Help Shape Its Future Cars - Autoblog Ford Motor Company announced a significant leadership update involving cross-town talent, appointing former General Motors executive Salvatore “Sam” Basile as its Vice President of Advanced Product Development, Cycle Planning, and Programs. Basile steps into the role with nearly three decades of product engineering and cycle planning experience, taking over responsibilities previously managed by Jim Baumbick. The structural shift positions a seasoned veteran at the center of Ford’s core vehicle architectures, mid-market entries, and high-volume truck lines.
