They’re on pace for 4 million this year, half US half RoW. For the US if they hit their goals on UEV (which I understand to be 100k Fathom sales, probably something similar for the Escape EV, so 200k total), can double Mustang sales with the 4-door (so, like 50k), and can recover F-series sales without aluminum fires and Lightning back (this is like another 100k) then they get most of the way there. The other 150k could be more UEV products, continued growth of the Bronco/BS/Maverick, if they turn the Mach-E factory into making C2 it would help a lot. The more challenging piece would be picking up the other 500k internationally.

Ford CEO Jim Farley Aiming For Double Digit Sales Jump By 2032 According to the Wall Street Journal, Farley recently told Ford workers that the company is eyeing a roughly 20 percent increase in volume by 2032, based on a goal of hitting five million new vehicle sales annually by that date. The executive believes that The Blue Oval's new product pipeline will be the driving force behind that substantial amount of growth, too. --- Lofty goal, but I guess actually having new product for a change (whether actual redesigns, and/or new nameplates) will result in increased sales.....

I don't feel like it would've been necessary to shoehorn a sedan or SUV under Corvette branding anyway.

FTFY. Let's not pretend those companies just did this on their own. They were forced into it.

Yea, you nailed it jpd80. Because them Chinese automakers stuck to the task of developing electric vehicles, they developed the products and processes to satisfy better than anyone else European consumers (and consumers in other parts of the world) who demand the combination of advanced technology and affordable pricing. That's why Jimbo was so intent on learning from them Chinese companies, especially BYD and Geely, and formulating principles that make Ford more competitive.

Correct, most domestic European Manufacturers are stuck, fighting highly aggressive Chinese brands that seem to cover their markets with cheaper pricing, not sure how long they can rely on parochial loyalty.. The Chinese basically stuck to the task of developing electric vehicles and their government weighed in heavily to make them keep going. Its like Europe wants to be clean and green but manufacturers dawdled their way into bigger better competition.

We'll have to see how it plays out. I believe we're gonna see a real clear divide between the Chinese brands undercutting everyone on cost, and legacy brands like Ford trying to appeal with higher prices, but more emotional and aspirational products.
