  1. Actions have consequences and for this CEO to go so hard, so quickly with adopting BEVs is seen as reckless. I know the intention was to cater to renters asking to hire Teslas and raising the profile of Hertz as a company thats changing with the times but sadly, that’s all come crashing down…….too much too quick.

  2. How the Liberal Media Reacted to Trump’s Latest Comment Is Why Americans Have Lost Trust https://townhall.com/tipsheet/saraharnold/2024/03/17/trump-bloodbath-comment-taken-out-of-context-n2636600 Ford US facilities "9" - US assembled models - "16" Ford/China facilities "6" - China assembled models - "20" Ford/Mexico Facilities "2" Mexican assembled models - "3" Non Ford Mexico/China joint venture facilties "2" assembled models "?" But are just barely president states the UAW is in full support of the current policies and the administration putting these policies in place..... Any chance of organizing Mexico or Chinese workers? To date 14% of Mexican labor is unionized and in decline. No assembly facilities. One parts plant is unionized (about 400 employees) the agreement isn`t centered around rates of pay, mianly hours worked and working conditions. 100% tariff worked before, energy independent worked before, small minority business at and all time high and inflation lowest in so many years worked before. Maybe the just barely IUAW president didn`t care for what worked....

  3. yeah, Lincoln is not even attending the event. I was hoping for the 2025 Navi too but the Aviator has debuted not long ago and also the Nautilus reviews are out so so I guess Lincoln is going to wait a bit to show something new. I really want to see the new Expy and how they plan to differentiate the interior using the same layout on both brands

  4. Not a Ford buy back instance, but a dealership buy back that I was directly involved in back in 1986 at the end of the Model Year. The customer had his 1986 Ford Escort GT in for service and the vehicle was up on the old-style hydraulic lift that was sunk in the floor. The lift collapsed and the vehicle was totaled so it became a dealership issue and expense to replace the vehicle. The customer was always difficult (S.O.B.) and insisted that we replaced the vehicle with an 'exact" replacement. It was at the end of the 1986 Model Year and too late to order a replacement vehicle from the factory. It was impossible to locate an "exact" replacement at another dealership that we could trade for, as every vehicle in stock at any other dealership within hundreds of miles had the optional AM/FM Stereo Cassette. The customer demanded an "exact" replacement vehicle and would not accept any changes including the paint color. I located a vehicle that was the closest match but equipped with the optional AM/FM Stereo Cassette option, and then met with the dealership's office manager to discuss the situation. I explained the customer's demands for an "exact" vehicle replacement and told him that I then wanted to dealer trade for the replacement vehicle with an AM/FM Stereo Cassette, and then install the customer's AM/FM Stereo radio from his original vehicle so that he'd have an "exact" replacement as he demanded. The office manager agreed with me and approved the extra dealership expense to swap out the Cassette unit with the customer's AM/FM Stereo radio. We did the dealer trade, swapped out the Cassette unit, installed the customer's AM/FM Stereo unit and delivered the vehicle to the customer. The customer read the Window Sticker and saw that the replacement vehicle was built with the optional AM/FM Stereo Cassette but was now equipped only with the AM/FM Stereo. When he asked about it, I explained to him that we were delivering the "exact" replacement per his demands and had he been even a little flexible that we would have given him the AM/FM Stereo Cassette at the dealership's expense.

  5. As we’ve discussed in other threads, rentals are probably the worst application for EVs as-is with the lack of widespread charging infrastructure. people on trips can’t charge at most hotels and usually don’t have time to go find a charger

  6. Just wanted to ask about the change over from engine operation to electric driving? Is there an on screen indicator to identify when it which mode the vehicle is in? The owners manual indicates a Power gauge on screen but I have yet to find this feature. Your comments please would be appreciated. Thanks

  8. Do not know about other electric vehicles, but I would not rent a Tesla unless I already owned one and was completely familiar with them ahead of time. It’s not like renting a regular ICE car where all you need is a key and everything else can be figured out quickly, without an owner’s manual, because they all function pretty much the same with minor exceptions.

  9. The Jeep thing is fun! This year Ford has a matching Bronco off road adventure outside there too, so that’s a plus!

  10. Yes, and unfortunately no Lincoln press conference. In fact, Lincoln is not even attending the event, first time ever I believe! I’m so bummed as I go every year for press days, was hoping for 2025 Navigator debut here.

  11. The expy could debut at NY, I see that Ford is on the media schedule

  12. But discussions on past Ford engines aside, I do think we're getting slightly off topic here.

  13. How do you figure that? They were in every edge, Taurus, MKX, MKS, Explorer, flex and a few other vehicles for at least a decade.

  14. True. What makes it even worse is some of the most reliable vehicles are also the most popular. Your Ford trucks and Toyota Camry's, things like that. Yet because they're so popular, you tend to hear more stories of people having issues. Which ironically makes people think they're less reliable.

  15. You’re talking attribute prototypes, we saw the wider GE2 drivetrain under a current Mach E top hat, that was last year. Unlike ICE field reliability trials, there much less to do with a BEV, save for checking HVAC systems and general driving…. Oakville is a big complex and probably capable of building multiple vehicle types possibly build hybrids, PHEVs and a true BEV in the one complex. It’s also a valuable export hub to USA, Europe and ROW markets like they did with Edge a few years ago. When Ford does a major reevaluation of its plans, it always goes through everything, runs multiple what ifs and whether delays are better for business. I see them pushing back or slowing down a lot of BEV projects, they’re just not needed as quickly as previously forecast. Ford knows it needs to press harder with hybrids but not at the expense of its BEV future so there’s a complex dynamic going on. In the ned it’s all comes down to ROI in the short term paying for the future.

  16. I understand the apprehension of having similarities between the Nav and Expy, but I have felt that using the F150 interior on the Expy was a hinderance to sales. If I care to guess, most drivers of full size SUVs are woman and I would anticipate the Tahoe interior has been more appealing to women. Regarding the coast to coast screen, the Chinese Explorer has a version, and as does the Nautilus. Obviously these are not the same model but they reflect different executions of it. The Explorer screen terminates early and looks blockier while the Nautilus flows cleanly into the doors. I think there’s room for Ford products to have it while not affecting the Lincoln models. Nautilus: Explorer:

  17. Ford has to understand that Lincoln is not Ford Vignale or Ford Platinum+, specially at the top of their lineup (Navigator). But I guess at this point is a reality, let’s hope they find a way to differentiate both interiors

  18. Agree but at this point I think the design is also important not only materials, etc. The new interior is the highlights on the current reviews so why throw away all this momentum. Also, the QX80 and Escalade are Navigator competitors. The new Tahoe and Suburban don't have it, and I don't think the Yukon will (I suspect it will have the Sierra EV interior).

  19. Wow. Based on the non hybrid specs of 250/280 I don’t think that one was upgraded. They must have targeted the old 2.7L performance wise with the hybrid. Oh the inefficiency. If only they used a smaller Atkinson cycle engine they could have gotten 3 more mpg…….😂
