Shame there is no "sporty or fast" vibe from the new Fiesta and Focus design language to go with the great guts of these two. And the 7 speed is a torque converter and only in the 2.3 EcoBoost, the diesel spec sheet is showing the 6 speed manual only.

Ford Edge To Be Replaced In Europe By Seven-Seat Kuga
MKII replied to RadicalX's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Ford knowing what the market wants is suspect when seeing diesel sales in Europe drop off the map and being the only engine choice of the Edge. With UK being Fords biggest market and UK market not buying diesel why the surprise of Edge sales flopping. Ford in their brilliance added AWD variants with the Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy but only in combination with a diesel powertrain. Why does it look like Ford wants to sabotage FoE business. Facking dumb shits -
Ford EU 2018 sales report - High-series models (including Titanium, Vignale, Active, ST-line, ST and RS) comprised more than 70 percent of Ford’s passenger car sales in its traditional European markets, reflecting an increase of 5.1 percentage points. "None" of those 70% plus high series cars make money? https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/Europe/en/2019/01/FordEuropesales2018.pdf

Ford Motor Co. said on Monday it had started negotiations with German worker representatives about potential job cuts at its Saarlouis plant following a decision to discontinue production of its Ford C-Max model. "We can confirm that we are entering into formal negotiations with our Works Council with the objective of ending production of C-Max/Grand C-Max at Saarlouis," Ford said in a statement. http://www.autonews.com/article/20181210/OEM01/181219932/ford-germany-job-cuts?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&fbclid=IwAR1yqmw_JiUk3ZFJ67iRyrqxjdJfkhy3C87gwC0CAA2NNH5Wfh9930IV-DQ

United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA.

If I remember correctly, the Focus sedan was assembled at Wayne, while the other variants were produced in Hermosillo Mexico. -
Under the tab "Preferences" you can choose language and country, where you choose USA. But you do need to register to gain access to your VIN details. Registering as an Independent which I have done only allows very limited access to the website.

Ford europe sales rise 1.7% in july
MKII replied to RadicalX's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Problem with all the high trim lines doing so well the last couple months of inventory is 99% Trend/Business (SE) spec left over. Dealerships in Estonia have 2 Foci remaining and as I understand MK4 will not arrive until late September. -
I predict the market will dictate the need for these new future vehicles SUV/CUV types to have BIG rebates to get them out of the dealerships. The market will be flooded with these high riders both in the used and new stock pile. So they will be forced to pass those savings on to consumers no doubt about it. Indicators are already showing Fords high riders are losing steam when it is supposed to be hay making time for high riders.

Sales seem to be good, and it seems BREXIT is the $$$$ killer. But Ford UK sales report is very positive as well as the below Ford EU report . Link for UK report https://www.at.ford.com/en/homepage/news-and-clipsheet/news/2018/7/ford-tops-uk-sales-chart-as-fiesta--transit-lead-the-way.html and link for the below report https://www.at.ford.com/en/homepage/news-and-clipsheet/news/2018/7/ford-cv-sales-set-new-records-in-june.html For example from Ford EU Junes sales report - Ford remained the No.1 CV brand in Europe with sales up 15 per cent, to 38,100. Ranger also had a strong month, continuing to lead as Europe’s best-selling pickup truck. Passenger sales totalled 88,500, with Ford sales growing in 13 of its traditional 20 European markets in June. High-series vehicles – including Titanium, Vignale, Active,ST-Line, ST and RS – made up 71 per cent of Ford passenger car sales in Ford’s traditional 20 European markets in June, up 4.8 percentage points year over year. ST-Line sales grew 36 per cent year to date June compared with 2017 Sales of Fiesta – Ford’s best-selling vehicle in Europe – were up 15 per cent in June compared with June 2017. Ford Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) sales grew more than 21 per cent in June year-over-year in Ford’s European 20 markets, and SUVs now account for more than one in five Ford vehicles sold in Europe. Among SUV highlights, EcoSport and Kuga set new year-to-date sales records –up 56 per cent and 10 per cent, respectively, compared with the first half of last year.

Ford said it would kill plans to build a $1.8 billion Focus plant in San Luis Potosi and instead produce the new Focus at an existing plant in Hermosillo. Ford took a $200 million hit to its finances by cancelling a new plant in Mexico. Although it is cheaper to build and ship cars to the United States from Mexico than China, “this was not a variable cost decision,” Hinrichs said in a briefing. And the not talked about associated costs - In announcing its plans for the Focus in China, where it expects production of the new model to begin in the second half of 2019, Ford did not specify the costs related to the decision. A company spokeswoman, Kelli Felker, said adding production to its existing Chinese plants would require a “relatively small investment.” The move may also affect suppliers that currently produce parts for the Focus made in Michigan. According to Transportation Department data, about 46 percent of the parts for the American-made Focus are produced in the United States and Canada. Ms. Felker said there was no information available on where parts were manufactured for Focuses currently made in China

Valencia Assembly news May 10,2018 - Ford Europe, Steven Armstrong, yesterday left a bittersweet taste among the workers at the Almussafes plant. On the one hand, he announced that the factory will produce the hybrid version of the Mondeo wagon, which is added to the one it manufactures for the four-door body, but without clarifying the future of the model when the current one is removed, around 2022.

Ford giving up on Fiesta, Focus and Fusion
MKII replied to silvrsvt's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
How many would have to sell to make you think it sold okay? MK3 Focus RS 2016 - 2018 the plant Saarlouis assembled 34,034 RS MK2 Focus RS. 2008 - 2010 the plant Saarlouis assembled 11,500 RS Without knowing how many sold in USA it is difficult to say or think if it sold well or not. But with triple the amount produced one could also think that the RS sold well in the USA. But to tow the line here, it does not matter how many they sold but how many $$$$$$'s were made on each unit. -

All variants will be built in Germany, although the sedan will not be sold in some EU markets. China is the only other confirmed assembly point for the MK4 hatch and sedan, and the only market where the wagon ACTIVE has been shown in a couple of pictures at the auto show there. Images below are the ones shown at the China MK4 reveal, and the wagon ACTIVE mule spied on the street in the UK. There was zero mention of the wagon ACTIVE at the Europe reveal. -
Ford european auto sales up 14% year over year

Plus no engine choices, just a diesel with two hp choices. German market bought almost half of those 900 April sales. Why would you think that the Ford EU's main markets are not buying the Edge? -
Autoextremist: Ford in Free Fall

Can you back your words up with actual facts that Blue Oval sedan buyers shunning Ford sedans are buying Fords more expensive utilities? Fords sales data sure doesn't show this to be fact. Akirby your posts remind me of those irritating Facebook and Google ads that they "push market" think we desire to see. And no matter how many of these ads you click i don't want to see, is a losing battle.. But you are damn good at it I must say, plus your sig shows only high riders in your driveway so at least you put your money with your mouth is. -

Autoextremist: Ford in Free Fall
MKII replied to Harley Lover's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
I have come to the conclusion blueovalforums is not a car enthusiast site , it is a shareholders site or at least it appears that way. A car company as big as Ford goes all bat shit crazy and announces it is cancelling it's money losing cars which at this moment are Fiesta, Focus, C-Max and Fusion and it is all good for the company. Looking at this from afar one gets the idea that in USA driveways are nothing but a F150 and an Edge or something similar. So most North Americans that purchase Ford products do not have a car and a truck or some type of high rider in their driveway? Fords decision not to offer cars anymore because they don't make money is fine if every other manufactures does the same because it only makes sense that they are losing on every car sold as well. When the Ranger got killed it was "one" vehicle, how this compares to wiping out 4 vehicles is a very different scenario. But as long as Ford accounting looks good for a bunch of you here it must be the right move, because Ford always does the right thing right? -
The all-new Corolla will be manufactured not only at the factory in Mississippi, but also at a new assembly plant Toyota is building in association with Mazda in Alabama. It’s set to be operational beginning 2021 following a $1.6-billion investment and will have an annual capacity of 300,000 cars.
