wescoent
More signs of life at Ford. With the male-dominated management of car companies, they often underestimate how important color is to buyers, ESPECIALLY women. I remember a few years ago at NYIAS, my lady and I were at the Jaguar display, and she was completely blown away by the Black Cherry paint on the new XJ Portfolio, which as some may recall, was a beautiful metallic black color that shimmered red when hit by light. She was so smitten by it, that we came very close to buying one (but since I'm not high on my local Jaguar dealer's priority list, I couldn't order one). I also like how the MKS is being used as a showcase of Ford's latest tech (Powershift, TwinForce, new paint). The way things SHOULD be. Hugh
Does this mean "Oxford White" will be gone? I always thought it was nice yet, pun unintended, too pedestrian.

If they get rid of Oxford White, what color are they going to dump on all the fleet whore vehicles?? Fleets love white vehicles. They are the easiest to paint over. Hugh
I doubt they will get rid of it altogether. I can see it for fleets and if someone who has insight on paint can enlighten me, it shouldn't be hard to make right?
630land
Fleet vehicles sometimes get colors not available to the public, such as some state police cars. I suppose 'oxford white' would be fleet only?
atomcat68
Oh, I was kind of hoping there were pictures of cars with these colors.
Edstock
IIRC, in the UK, the Transit standard color is white. Any other color is extra-cost.

I suppose 'oxford white' would be fleet only? They sometimes get colors that are not supposed to be available even to fleet cars. Like the pinkish Panthers the MN highway patrol got several years ago. Supposed to be Maroon. They got pink. Peace and Blessings
02MustangGT
Yeah! New colors! THAT will get people into the dealerships! Yeah! Pioneer
Yeah! Stupid fuckers on an internet message board think they know WHAT will get people into dealerships. Give me a break Pioneer. If I'm getting under your skin, that just means I'm having that much fun! :happy feet:
02MustangGT
If that's your idea of fun, well ok. By the looks of your post count, you must REALLY like having "fun".
JW
I don't think Pioneer has as much fun as pcsario does. I swear that prick messes his shorts every time he makes a post (and imagine all the laundry his mom has to do).
4d4evr-1
Took my 2000 Ranger in for the recall on the master cylinder today and my wife and I walked the lot. ""Dale Jarrett Ford in Charlotte, NC."" My wife really like the new lite sage on the new Taurus. I think color can make a difference on the lot and on the road!!! :hyper:
Roadrunner
Yeah! New colors! THAT will get people into the dealerships! Would you rather they did not offer new colors and fall behind the times? Imagine no orange or deep blues when all of your competitors have that color? Roadrunner
Ford shouldn't take the workers advice on fashion, period. Hey, what I know is that the color of '07 was orange. The color of '08, my understanding, is semi-deep browns and navy blues. It sounds like we're sort of going back to the late 1970s with colors -- look at the greens, the browns and the other adventurous/off-kilter colors. Stuff like Calypso Green was straight 1992. Stuff like Ice Blue and the new green they're using to replace the Titanium Green is like straight 1974. Ford Jellymoulds
Any colour as long as it is black, good old Henrys black is the in vogue protective finishing at the moment in the UK.
