Blueblood
I wonder how long until we see the production version and what Ford's crackheads designers do to it (who are the worst in the industry btw, almost as bad as the Chinese!).. rmc523
so thee showing the 4-door verve and a 3-door? 4-door for sure and I read somewhere that the 3-door may be there as well.
RichardJensen
We get it in 2009, not 2010, and the 3 door will also be at the show 'to gauge customer reaction'.
MERKURXR4Ti
Quick question... I've read autoblog's summary and skimmed the press release, what is the 1.4 ecoboost and do we know the specs of this beast?
Ford Jellymoulds
The Verve concept seems to morphing into a Focus replacement what happened to this concept? New Focus replacement concept? Front grille is a bit better it would be nice to have a warm Pug smile at the front, US Focus frets at you http://www.kewego.co.uk/video/iLyROoaftIsA.html
RichardJensen
Quick question... I've read autoblog's summary and skimmed the press release, what is the 1.4 ecoboost and do we know the specs of this beast? It's a revolutionary engine that runs off of sunshine and happy thoughts and its only emissions are rainbows and Sierra Club bumper stickers. No specs, but if its power is in direct proportion to the 2.0L Ecoboost, it's about 190hp and 190lb-ft. However, it may churn out an exceptionally efficient 150-160hp/tq--I don't know that you need 190hp in a vehicle of that size, not that it wouldn't make for one heck of a pocket pocket rocket. RichardJensen
The Verve concept seems to morphing into a Focus replacement what happened to this concept? It's going to be at the show, and the Verve sedan concept is only 146" long; hardly Focus sized....
Ford Jellymoulds
It's going to be at the show, and the Verve sedan concept is only 146" long; hardly Focus sized.... Some folk might think this is not the right size for a Hummer of the future, but its at the Detroit Auto show as well Richard. Ford-150
Some folk might think this is not the right size for a Hummer of the future, but its at the Detroit Auto show as well Richard. but even if it makes it past the concept version.....it isn't going to replace the H2 or H3
Harley Lover
I find the press release very interesting - even though the quotes are attributed to Kuzak, it has Farley written all over it. I cannot recall any point in Ford's recent past when a different division (Ford Europe) was given so much credit for another division's product - it's quite startling. Also, the out and out touting of Ford's success with small cars in Europe is a welcome change - I don't recall such bravado for anything other than trucks. Farley seems to be really be pitching this car and its attributes at a new audience, along with us enthusiast nutcases. He also seems to be touting the worldwide might of Ford - and that's also a very good thing. Finally, Mullaly's vision is bearing fruit. I find much to enthuse over when I read the release! And that's before I concentrate on the car! Edited January 13, 2008 by Harley Lover
