Ford June 2010 Sales Report

Recommended Posts

Mopar sales up +35% it must be the fleet influence.

Corrected your statement.

Fleet is the ONLY possible explanation for 100%+ gains for the Sebring and Avenger.

Interesting that Grand Cherokee sales were down 20%, unless the old models are sold out and the new ones aren't hitting dealers in time to make up for it.

Your a fucking idiot

I don't want to see Fords sales drop down to Kuga levels, l like the boxy shaped Escape and so do many Americans at the moment just look at those sales numbers every month.

It will be a shame to see those numbers drop, What is replacing the Escape l asked a civil question.

FIESTA

KUGA

Not a lot of difference between a Kuga & Fiesta Sub Compact inside, l would hate to see Escape 20,000 sales falls down to Kuga levels 4,500 folk won't be to pleased if 3/4 of the workforce get laid off who will be the idiot then. Transit Connect sales and Transit E-Series van sales are almost identical both sides of the pond.

Yeah, you Europeans loved the Escape. How's the Maverick doing these days? :finger:

Never had a diesel, which is like 60% of the market.

My God somebody here who knows what they are talking about.

UK Kuga is diesel ONLY we don't have a gasoline model.

Some idiot at Ford USA dumped the gas guzzing ONLY Maverick on us, not releasing at the time you could afford to buy one but it would have to be laid up in your front drive as nobody good afford to fill one up in the UK nobody gave gasoline ONLY Mavericks a second look sad to say.

If we had got a diesel only model they would have sold like hotcakes here, everybody else was selling diesels 1/3 more fuel effient models and laughing at clueless Ford with their gasoline only models.

The gasoline-only Maverick probably got better real world fuel economy than the Cortina you keep begging for Ford to revive. :poke:

I don't even think doubling the Maverick's sales would put it at what the Kuga is doing now.

I remember seeing the old school Maverick in the mid 1990's when I was in Bosnia, we had a civilian contact team out there from FMC helping us get parts for a Bradley that threw a prop shaft and tore up the inside of the hull and took a couple key fittings for linkages with it! It was a light blue color...kinda neat SUV at the time.

Mustang outsold Camaro by 2400 units.

I think you meant 1400 units,

Mustang 8,974

Camaro 7,540

Two thirds of Cadillac sales come from CTS and SRX

Maybe Ford and Lincoln need to take note of this.....

CTS 4,193

SRX 3,804

In June, Ford retail sales were up 15 percent versus a year ago, and Ford gained retail market share for the 20th time in the last 21 months. Fleet sales also were up 15 percent, primarily reflecting higher sales of Ford’s hard-working trucks to commercial customers.

Well done Ford

Whoops. Was going off memory. Thought I saw 9900 for the Mustang. Correction noted.

Well, they are at least answering the SRX call it would appear with the likely upcoming C-segment CUV.

Mercury up +26.2% Lincoln down -11.5% good to see Ford got rid of the right brand.

And that sales increase (and decrease, since they're in the same showroom) has nothing to do with the discounts they're putting on Mercuries to reduce inventories.

According to AN, Cuauatitlan or however you spell it is up to 1,300 Fiestas/week and have built just over 10,000 so far since Job 1 date. Now how many have made it to dealers so far is anyone's guess. Looks like at least 1,000 have made it to dealers so far meaning many have yet to see their first Fiesta as of June 30th.

I've not seen any at my local dealer, although I haven't gone by their 'get-ready' lot.

Interesting that Grand Cherokee sales were down 20%, unless the old models are sold out and the new ones aren't hitting dealers in time to make up for it.

I saw one new Grand Cherokee at a local dealer yesterday.

Hope you don't replace it with the Kuga it only sells about 4,500 a month here.

For once I agree with you......not your reasoning/explanation though.

Fords Cortina still averaged 16,500 UK sales a month as it faced the axe in the UK, today the Mondeo sells 12,500 to the whole world every month in a million times bigger market today. Diesel engines arrived just after the Cortina finished production, Early 80's Escorts, Fiesta & Orions were the first to be fitted with diesels they returned 65 MPG which is a lot better than 22 MPG 2001 rebadged gasoline Escape fuel consumption in Britain went backwards.

Engine technology has moved on 65 MPG diesel engines we had in the 80's now will return up to 88 MPG today, l seen a few 1960's Mk1 Escorts even a Capri's fitted with a diesel engines from the 80's the owners say they return 65 MPG. If l had the choice of buying a RWD Mk1 Escort that was very light car with full to the brim with bags of character fitted with a 88 MPG Econetic diesel that returned 80 MPG instead, or a dull bland characterless Mondeo Econetic that returns 61 MPG l know which car l would chose.

July Mustang sales should show a mid-month jump as the Ramp 5P / 51 shuffle is supposed to end. Dealers also report a large number of retail / fleet Fusion and Ranger units which have been sitting at final destination ramps for weeks. Ramps can't release the units directly to dealers based on Ford's directive that the units involved are part of a quality hold. I've never seen Ford release and ship a unit then hold it at the final destination ramp in such a fashion.

That explains why one of my local dealers have 5 white Fusions sitting in the back lot.

We have had infrequent "stop sale" orders before in which the unit is physically at the dealership but can't be sold. That these units are sitting at the final destination ramp is unusual since Ford Credit is not collecting floorplan interest or flat (insurance) charges (for those dealers flooring with FMCC). These charges begin upon delivery to the dealer.

Those were the Nissan Terrano II (which was first gen Pathfinder with new body) made in Spain and rebadged as Ford Maverick bastard baby. It was pretty agriculture all around with a fairly crude Nissan diesel engine but sold reasonably well for Ford due to the diesel.

The Escape version of Maverick came later... without diesel engine as noted already.
